Unexpected room upgrade

So, on my recent trip in December, my family and I were booked for club level at the Boardwalk Inn.

We got upgraded to the Steeplechase Suite. This room normally goes for $2700 a night. We got it for 6 nights. This is by far the most amazing and "magical" thing to ever happen for us at WDW, and will likely stay that way forever.

The room is unbelievable. Three bathrooms, two bedrooms, living room, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, walk in closets, three doors to the outside hall, and not to mention a 100 foot (or so) balcony.

The very first night we passed Cat Cora in the hallway and said hello. :ROFLOL:

I'll never be able to stay in this room again, but I just had to share that moment with some folks who would understand. Honestly, I still don't quite believe it! We've heard of this thing happening before, very rarely, and joked about it happening, but never ever thought it could. Goes to show you never know what can happen. :animwink:

damn man.... epic!

but to be honest, I spend like 20 waking minutes in my room. The rest is showering and sleeping. I can't see how people could spend that cash on a room. Regardless, the upgrade was a nice surprise, eh?

Some people think we're nuts for spending the money we do at the Poly. If I had the money, I'd spend it. Why not?

Wow that's great. I just watched the video, how beautiful (loved the music too). I can't imagine how you felt - how did they tell you? Did you have any idea what the room would be before you got to it? Congratulations:king:

That's unbelievable!!!! The only thing that baffles is me is that the room is so beautiful yet the kitchen is pathetic.

If you can afford a room like that are you really going to be cooking your meals in the room!?

Last time we stayed at the Swan we got upgraded to a room with a balcony and I was excited with that, but this is just off the charts!

Well we were staying concierge anyway, so we went through that check-in process, nothing out of the ordinary. Then, the concierge (a super sweet guy named Pete who was fabulous the whole stay) asked, "So, do you folks believe in magic, miracles, pixie dust that sort of thing?" as he's walking us down the hall. We laughed, and said "sure," and then he stopped at the steeplechase suite. He said, "Well, we ran out of rooms so we put you in this one."

We all about died.

Congratulations! The video was wonderful and the music fit the Boardwalk perfectly. If I were staying there I wouldn't spend any time in the kitchen. I get enough of that at home. We loved staying at the Boardwalk just in a regular room, so I can't even imagine how fun it was to stay in the Steeplechase Suite. So glad you shared your pictures and video with us.

The samething happened to us in December. We stay in the contemporary every time we go, the MK view. Well this time we arrive and are quickly escorted by a cast member to the elevators and being taken up to Level 12 club level..HOLY cow we had no idea what happened or why we just got an upgrade. Free breakfast and a lounge only for those on Level 12 and a gorgeous view of the MK and all the resorts. Not to mention we had a concierge 24/7 and turn down service every night. Now that's what I call a MAGICAL Experience. :dazzle::xmas::sohappy:
