Unexpected room upgrade

So, on my recent trip in December, my family and I were booked for club level at the Boardwalk Inn.

We got upgraded to the Steeplechase Suite. This room normally goes for $2700 a night. We got it for 6 nights. This is by far the most amazing and "magical" thing to ever happen for us at WDW, and will likely stay that way forever.

The room is unbelievable. Three bathrooms, two bedrooms, living room, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, walk in closets, three doors to the outside hall, and not to mention a 100 foot (or so) balcony.

The very first night we passed Cat Cora in the hallway and said hello. :ROFLOL:

I'll never be able to stay in this room again, but I just had to share that moment with some folks who would understand. Honestly, I still don't quite believe it! We've heard of this thing happening before, very rarely, and joked about it happening, but never ever thought it could. Goes to show you never know what can happen. :animwink:

Incredible upgrade!!!

I thought our upgrade from All Star Sports to a 2 bedroom villa at OKW was great, but yours beats ours all to heck. Congrats! :sohappy:

Amazing that you got it. Even more amazing that you got it for 6 days! Congrats. We've gotten upgrades before but this is amazing. I'm obsessed with staying in all of the on property suites. We've gotten into some (the honeymoon suite at Wilderness, 2 bedroom at BLT) but we're working on the rest! Thanks for the photos.

damn man.... epic!

but to be honest, I spend like 20 waking minutes in my room. The rest is showering and sleeping. I can't see how people could spend that cash on a room. Regardless, the upgrade was a nice surprise, eh?

I thought I hit the lottery when we were upgraded from standard view to concierge level at the Yacht Club for our honeymoon. THIS is an amazing suite!

To all of you who always say "its just a place to shower and sleep" - you're crazy! My husband and I love the amount of time we spend at the resort as much as the parks. The nicer the room - the less time we spend at the parks (and the more relaxing our vacation)! One of my fondest memories from my honeymoon is sitting on the balcony of the concierge lounge sipping wine and eating desserts. Resorts like the Boardwalk are worth the time to enjoy and his video proves it!

Thanks for this ^. Even when I just use the resort as a place to shower and sleep, it makes a huge difference to the quality of my vacation overall where I'm staying. Walking back into a resort that you feel good in makes the vacation magical. It doesn't (and shouldn't) end when leaving the parks.

Haha, yeah the kitchen was pretty small. The Keurig was great, though. Thing is, the concierge lounge is nearly right outside this room, so the kitchen was not being used much. Normally we're type A people at Disney, but we scaled back some park time for resort time just to enjoy the balcony and concierge food and drink. We figured we can always come back to the parks, but we will never ever get to stay in that room again.

Awesome!! I love hearing about things like this, and seeing the pictures. I didn't know that room existed, or that it had that whole balcony. Thanks for sharing! The only upgrade I got was also at the Boardwalk, from a studio to a one bedroom on our first anniversary. We didn't know until we opened the door, and were thrilled!
