So, some of you might recall that I was being all "emo" over not staying for the fireworks for Epcot's 25th.

Then I tal;ked to my professor, and got out of class that night. Hooray. But then I was emo because my other half had to fly out too early that evening.

Well, other half talked to professor and got out of class the next morning, and thus can fly back on the 2nd. Yay! No more emo merf!

Problem though - I'm booked at the Poly for 2 nights and nothing is available for the 3rd night there, save for the king Kamehameha suite (i'm not that rich).

Boardwalk Villas has a good rate ($200 a night) and all three nights for a studio. Should I just jump ship, or should i grab one night, or should I just get some sort of value resort or something? We'll be in the room only from the close of Epcot until like 4-5am since the flight is at 6am.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Personally, if it was my decision, I'd stay at the Boardwalk Villas. You're just a short walk away from Epcot and at the rate they quoted you at is a steal. I'd jump on that now and switch ship.

Personally, I'd jump at the $200 studio (right outside Epcot...no waiting on a bus...I <3 Epcot resorts), but if you don't really care one way or another, I'd say just get a value for a night.

Have fun, whatever you decide! I'm so jealous!

I'd do the Poly for the two nights and then switch to the BWV for a night. That way you have the convenience of both a MK resort and an Epcot resort.

Getting the Boardwalk Villas for that price is a great deal. If I was in your shoes, I would jump ship.

The location is almost perfect. Your only a 5 minute walk away from Epcot, and a 5-10 minute boat trip from Disney Studios. You will only have to take a bus to the MK and AK.

Have a great time!!:)

I agree with the other responses. It sounds like the BWV would be a great fit because you can walk or take the water taxi back to the resort. I'd hate to be waiting in long bus lines late into the night if I had to take off so early the following morning.

Have fun!!!!

I had a sorta bad experience before at Saratoga with a studio - it was so small. With the bed open (went with a platonic friend) we couldn't fit a suitcase between the end of it and the wall. We had to climb over beds to get around.

Are the BWV studios the same size?

Oh Meyla Weyla
Saratoga Springs : The Studio Villas sleep four in a room of 355 square feet.

BoardWalk Villas: Studios: - These rooms are 359 square feet

But you can't beat the close proximity to Epcot for the festivities. Personally I would go for location, location, location due to Celebration 25, but that's just me :)

Ok, so i called to change to BWV.

Nightmare experience on the phone, let me tell you. First two calls, got hung-up on before i ever got an agent. How do i know? I went right to the survey. Both times gave the whole thing the absolute worst score possible.

Finally, sick of the phone system, i lied to it. I told it I was some fresh and new person who hadn't been to WDW in a few years (I wouldn't tell it i was entirely new cuz those CM's tend to only be trained in the basics)

I got a person in half the time it took be to get to the survey the two times before (5mins versus 10mins to get hung up on)

Gave her my confirmation number, she's like "Is it a CM or convention room?" Umm.. no. It's an internet booking, and i know your systems suck, but you should recognize an R-number.

And because my billing and shipping are different, and the internet ressie seemingly chooses at random which parts to use, i get to spend forever just try to confirm that i am who i am - and the CM acts like i'm stupid.

Then i finally get to make my request. I've searched the net, i know what's available, i know what can be done. 2 nights at Poly dropped and changed to 3 nights at BWV in a studio. "Let me put you on hold."

10 minutes of music later and praying i dont get disconnected, I get a bewildered "Hello?" umm, yeah, i'm still there - i didn't give up yet.

"Ok, Boardwalk villa, you owe $55 difference."
"What?"
"I need to takle payment of $55"
"Why?"
"Because that's the difference in price from your deposit"
"The BWV is cheaper then Poly"
"Oh.. umm.. Oh! It's a refund to you! Haha"
"Ok, how much is it total for the 3 nights?"
"I can only tell you it's $225 for the one night"
"What?"
"It's $225 for the night and you're getting $55 back from your $280 deposit"
"But how much does it cost total for the three nights?"
"I can only tell you what's on the computer.."
"Can i talk to guest services?"
"Sir, I'm telling you everything that I can.."
"Guest Services"

10 more minutes of hold music..

I explain what i need, in terms of room, find out that it is curently a booking for the BWV in a studio for 3 nights, not 1 night at BWV and 2 nights at Poly. Thank god for small favors. The last CM atleast put it in the system properly.

"How much is it?"
"$225 for the first night, you're getting $55 back"
"How much total?"
"$225 times 3"
"So $675?"
"That should be it"

A conversation explaining how CM's are sensitive about the R-reservations later (which, btw, i dont sympathize, if the system sucks then they get the crap, not my sympathy - fix the system, spend less time trying to explain it to me) and i have my room, i think.

I'm supposed to get a confirmation email. I hope my ressie number didn't change, cuz no one gave me a new one. I got names written down though, so if i show up and everything is wrong, peeps goin down.

OMG...this is the sort of thing that drives me nuts. I'm AWFUL at math, but even I know how to multiply $225 x 3.

ANYWAY, phone headaches aside, glad you got it all taken care of! :sohappy:

Sorry you had to deal with that kind of crap on the phone Mousemerf.

I still don't understand why they couldn't tell you the total price for all three nights at the BWV. That is just stupid. If they try to charge you more than the 675 for the three nights you should protest it.

Anyway, I hope you have a great trip.

Woah, that's ridiculous. So no one could bother to be polite and give/find you the total for the three nights. I do believe I would have lost my patience at "$225 times 3". How rude.

I've always been given my total, plus any other monetary breakdowns I asked for. Sheesh. They owe you that much.

Also, my res # did not change when I changed resorts.

Aaaand, I too was disconnected and went straight to the survey, which I hung up on :brick:twice :brick:

We got snowed in last year at the beginning of December, going home to Chicago. Nothing available at Wilderness Lodge for that night, so we jumped for the one night to the only room available, Caribbean Beach. It was fine, and I felt like it extended the vacation even more, with a resort to explore where we had never stayed. Haven't been back to the Caribbean Beach Club since, because we have our usual places to stay of Wilderness Lodge, POFQ, and Contemporary and Beach Club, but I now know I would stay there again if it was available. But I wouldn't give up two nights at the Poly for it!

So, what is the secret to getting an intelligent person on the DISNEY line? I get different rate quotes from different CM's when I call. Does anyone have an untold sure-fire way to get through and get it done fast?

Problems like this are why we booked our next trip through Kingdom Konsultants (Thanks, Elizabeth!)

One would think that Disney would want to make it easy for people to add on to their vacation packages. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops to add a night to your hotel reservations. We went through something simlar when we added a night and added parkhopper to our tickets. Next time I'm going KK all the way!

But if there isn't availability, how can they allow you to add a night in any situation? If they did this, people would be bumped that were scheduled to arrive that day. Not a good thing, IMHO.
:lookaroun

I didn't get the impression that Disney was putting the original poster through hoops. Poster was just in a personal dilema when their desired length of stay wasn't available.
