Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

Yes, it's the same old question!

I did a search and found some info I was looking for BUT specifically which one would you pick for two small kids (7 and 4) who are not confident swimmers.

I was at TL many many moons ago when I was teenager... I remember loving it! I've never been to BB! My husband and two kids have never been to a water park (at Disney or anywhere for that matter).

We're only going to one... which one would you pick for our family?

We always preferred Typhoon Lagoon. The main selling point of Blizzard Beach is the main reason we don't care for it. Most people think the snow theming is a great idea, but my wife & I are two of the weirdos that don't like being wet & half dressed in the snow. Lol. :D

Actually, you make a good point... coming from NL, Canada the LAST thing I want to see is snow (real or fake)! :animwink:

I didn't vote in this poll as we have never been to one of the water parks. However, one of these two water parks is where we are going to be spending our first day on our trip in September. Think I'll just sit back and wait on the positives and negatives of each park.

 No kidding. I live in the northern US and we see PLENTY of snow every year. I think this is a large part of why we've always liked TL better. Sometimes I book impulse trips to WDW specifically to get away from anything resembling snow. ;)

I love both parks, both are fantastically themed and very enjoyable. However I feel that I would have to give TL the edge. This may sound kind of odd but the brightness of all the white in BB really gets to my eyes sometimes! TL seems to have more of a relaxed atmosphere.....plus the wave pool is awesome.

Another vote for TL! Also from the frozen tundra, but that doesn't impact our choice. My family loves the huge wave pool.

Also, there's hardly any shade at BB, while at TL it's easy to find if you want it. We love the lazy river and the snorkling with the sharks.

I was always a Typhoon Lagoon man.
But having visited both last week, I think I'm moving into the Blizzard Beach camp.
The main reason being BB's foilage has finally matured to the point that there's almost as many shady spots as at Typhoon Lagoon.
It's a noticeable change.

The lazy river at BB is now almost as shaded by trees as TL's, and it's quite a bit longer.
BB's really become a different place since I last visited 3-4 years ago.

That's good to know. I haven't been to BB in close to 10 years, so I guess that makes sense.

I just like BB's rides better. Especially Teamboat Springs and the Lazy river, both of which are FAR longer than the offerings at TL. And of course, Summit Plummet.

Having said that, TL does offer some unique attractions, specifically the sharks and Crusher Gusher!

You will not make a mistake in your decision.

I think Typhoon Lagoon is easier to do. Blizzard Beach is equally as awesome but man...you get a work out there. The sun...all the steps...I still love it though!
