I have not seen this posted yet, but Tusker House is now closed to be converted to a table service resturant.

2 November 2006: Tusker House to become Character Buffet

They tended to have healthier items like rotisserie chicken, grilled salmo, and various salads - plus a really good corn chowder. We liked their breafasts, too, which were decidedly less healthier!

I'm sorry to see them closed since we"ll be there in a few weeks, but I'm looking forward to what might be on the buffet.

I swear. For every good decision that comes down the pipeline, we get decisions like this that suggest the need for certain management to be tossed under a moving monorail.

I really will miss this.

They def need more table service in AK. I think they have none right now. they have Donalds Character Breakfast buffet in the mornings but other than that nothing, Rainforest Cafe is outside the park and Yak and Yeti is not open yet. I hope they have the same type of food that they have at Boma, then i wont have to leave the park to eat there!!

Does anyone know the logic behind this change? We eat at Tusker House at least once on each trip and it always seems really busy.

I don't get it either? I loved it there for breakfast. It always seemed much better than the other fast food breakfasts. Their croissant was great!

I'm going to keep the faith on this one......I loved Tusker House V.1 lets hope Tusker House V.2 is as good or better.

I don't know, but I have a theory.

My theory is that AK needs a TS restaurant that participates in DDP. Rainforest doesn't participate. Yak & Yeti is a Landry's outlet, as an Operating Participant---coincidentally, they also run the two RFCs. So, I'm guessing that Y&Y won't be on the Plan either. Ergo: convert the largest indoor-seating area you have to a third TS that will participate.

Again, just guessing.

Pizzafari is now (as of today) serving a quick service breakfast. Menu items include breakfast pizza, egg platter with choice of bacon or sausage, French toast, cinnamon roll and assorted pastries.:slurp:

Yak & Yeti will be serving Asian food. Boma serves African food.:)

The real question is...

But what is Tuna Tom to do?? Isn't this the source of his beloved Tuna Sandwiches??? If he caused a ruckus last time with the Tuna-Tweaking change, what will he do now?? And where else can he get a good Tuna sandwich to preserve his namesake??

During my last visit, I managed to capture an image of good ol'Tuna Tom... I cherish it!
