I don't know, but I have a theory.

My theory is that AK needs a TS restaurant that participates in DDP. Rainforest doesn't participate. Yak & Yeti is a Landry's outlet, as an Operating Participant---coincidentally, they also run the two RFCs. So, I'm guessing that Y&Y won't be on the Plan either. Ergo: convert the largest indoor-seating area you have to a third TS that will participate.

Again, just guessing.

I agree with this and what's more, it was more like a TS than CS.... although similar in space and theming to something like Columbia Harbour House, I guess they figure they may as well raise the prices some more and people like it so much they'll still come

But what is Tuna Tom to do?? Isn't this the source of his beloved Tuna Sandwiches??? If he caused a ruckus last time with the Tuna-Tweaking change, what will he do now?? And where else can he get a good Tuna sandwich to preserve his namesake??

During my last visit, I managed to capture an image of good ol'Tuna Tom... I cherish it!

Tuna Tom gave me a lecture about how the quality of cast members has gone downhill...:lookaroun

I said my goodbyes on Saturday. Walked around for an hour taking photos of the interior and the signage. The CM who took my order said she was moving on to Flame Tree BBQ. We both lamented the change...

I have to consider the possiblity that the new buffett style restaurant COULD have all those things that Tusker House offered plus more....surely they knew that food selection was popular.....very busy restaurant.....was our favorite in the AK, something for everyone there....plus great cookies on the way out!!!

Even if they do I'm still not spending twice as much for a buffet and on top of that I am an adult without children, character meals are wasted on me.

Once I heard him complain about how "they just don't make rope like they used to..." and "clouds just ain't that fluffy nowadays"... oh Tuna Tom, your the living end!

I beleave it is only going to be a character Dinning for breakfast and basic TS for Lunch and Dinner.

So long to one of the best CS restaurants at WDW and so long to me ever having lunch at DAK anymore. I hope they change the menus at the other CS restaurants to offer more cause right now that park has the least diverse amount of offerings compared to others.

Not a bad theory, but I seem to recall JPVonDrake (who works in the CRC) share with us that Y&Y will take priority seatings, and will be on the plan.

I could be wrong on that though. I just think I remember him saying that.

I must have missed that. I'll be pleased if that's the case---that suggests that the Powers That Be are bullish on AK becoming a three meal park at last.

Buffet all day. Characters only during the breakfast portion though.

Which is still bad news for me. I loved the chicken, and the ease of walking up to the counter, demanding my chicken, paying a fair price and sitting down...... to eat my chicken.

I wish they had Buffalo wings.

They could call them African Buffalo Wings if they want to.

I had a craving when i was down there once. Bad idea, disney had some of the best food i have ever eaten but the wings were really just plain terrible. They baked them?!!?!? Who bakes chicken wings?!??!

I have had jamacian wings, cajun wings, italian wings and asian wings. African wings would be interesting.

Tusker House had the best rotisserie chicken anywhere in the parks. And what an awesome price! One of my favorite things about AK is now gone!

Hopefully, Yak and Yeti will be good and make up for the loss.
