TTA/Peoplemover experts?

I was at MK today and I had also noticed this on the video of the new stitch show posted....that the TTA trains are basically sitting on different parts of the track....I guess I had thought they were all able to be stored, but I guess that's not the case?

It's just odd that they're in random places along the track.

I believe they've been that way since the ride shut down. I thought that the trains were stored when not in use but I guess not...

They may not have room for all of the trains at one time along the storage track.

By my estimate, the storage track has about 825' of track length. (I used a satellite image of SM to get the diameter, calculated the circumference, and took about 5/6 of that length to account for the part that isn't storage)

How long are the trains? About 30' each is my guess. That would mean only having storage for about 27 trains, and I know there are more than that. Plus, some of the spur track is the actual workshop area, and they probably want to keep that clear for actual work.

Though for show reasons (and limiting the exposure to the weather) they could at least push the non-storage ones into the tunnels out of sight...

Well, supposedly TTA is also getting a refurb, that is if their funding isn't cancelled or scaled back...:brick::brick::brick:

I believe they do have enough storage for all the trains, because I have seen the track completely cleared... It's really weird looking when Rocket Tower station is empty.

I would imagine that they keep a couple of TTA trains out so the theming does not look so bare.

We should consider ourselves luck there hasn't been a PM in DL for almost 10 years!

They were teasing us by leaving them out two weeks ago. argggg!!!!

Often they arn`t stored unless of weather - it`s a bind to cycle them all back as well as to park them. As well as the SM interior there is the maintainence loop, which has a part double track over the pit, but if I recall they have to be moved by hand inside to be placed bumper to bumper. With 150 5 car trains that is a lot of effort.
