Tsmm: Ts3?

Just got back from seeing TS3D, it was great :D

It got me wondering however, if there's any word on whether TSMM will see any changes after TS3 is released?

Obviously, the film is building lots of buzz (not pun intended ) and I'm sure it will bring along some new characters to the franchise. But will we see them incorporated into the attraction?

I don't think it'd be too hard to change the scenes up (then again I'm not too keen on the exact technology used), but has anybody heard anything similiar to this?

Quite possibly. i know I've heard that WDI specifically made it easy to change out games when appropriate, even going so far as to suggest possible seasonal overlays in the future.

I've heard about the seasonal overlays as well. I think the theming possibilities are almost limitless for this attraction, and can't wait to see a few realized :D

I still haven't done that one yet. Last two times I was there, even though it was the off season, wait times were like 60 minutes and fast passes went FAST. Hopefully I can do it in November....I just have a hard time waiting an hour for anything..

You have to go there first thing in the morning. Get the fastpass, do the other things in the park.

Or sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and wait 60+ minutes. In my opinion its a fun attraction and my first time on it was during a cast preview but I definitely would not have been disappointed if I had to wait that long for my first time on it.

I'm not sure; I mean, in the new movie, the toys LEAVE Andy's bedroom, and (from what the previews suggest) they may never return, as Andy may never return to his bedroom now that he's off to college.

I don't really forsee a whole lot of change in TSMM after Toy Story 3. As it is right now it doesn't have all the characters from both movies just the main/major ones. I'm sure that Toy Story 3 will have at least one major character in it that endures but I don't it'll be so much to retheme or change anything drastically.

Isn't TSMM set between TS2 and TS3 already?

Could be wrong on that...

Midway Mania happens kind of it's own, since it features the ROOM of Toy Story 1, yet features characters from 2. The imagineers talked about how they lost sleep over these questions, but ultimately and for the better realized they were overthinking it way too much.

The hubby & I took our 1st spin on TSMM in May 2008 during Passholder Previews. We got in line, waited about 10 minutes or so, got up to the Lincoln Log cabin to get our glasses, and it went down. As we were leaving the building we asked if we could wait outside to see if it came back up (the area was still blocked off to the public). We were allowed to but were told if we walked outside the area we couldn't return until or if the ride reopened. We chose to sit outside against construction walls in the heat & sun. It started out a group of about 50-75 people. The thinking starts out with "If I walk away it will come back up" but then turns into "I've been here so long I refuse to make this time a waste by leaving". The CMs were awesome & took turns coming out periodically to play games or color in coloring books they had. I loved listening to the CMs talking to the kids asking what toy company they came from. Each CM gave a different brand for themselves: I'm a Parker Brothers...I'm Mattel...I'm Hasbro...LOL! As time passed the wait evolved into a sort of game of TSMM Survivor: Who could outlast the others??? Even towards the end of the eternal wait when my blood sugar started to dip and getting food meant we had to leave I refused. Over 2 1/2 hours later the 15 or so people left waiting were brought inside and it was amazing. TSMM was well worth it. And, in the end, it's another crazy, off-the-wall WDW memory to have forever. :D

To the OP, I thought about this just a little after seeing the TS3D movies over the weekend. I think overlays or little tweeks would be easy if needed at all. I'd looove to see seasonal overlays. That would be awesome!

Disney does such a great job on the seasonal decorations, I'm excited at the prospect of TSMM overlays. In the mind of child (of any age) Christmas is a magical time, and Disney capitalizes on that! :xmas:

This type of dynamically changing rides is something I see Disney really moving towards int he future.

I have a personal theory that StarTours 2.0 will consist of multiple versions of the ride that are rotated randomly.

Yea, there are a few plotholes that I noticed too. I always thought the cloud wallpaper was apart of TS2 until I saw it recently and realized it was completely different. And then the prospecter never got to Andy's room as he was dumped off with the crazy barbie and artist girl.
