TSM Wait Times...?

YES! Stupid long. We got our fast passes at 10am and they were for 4pm, buy noon they were gone for the day. We saw the wait time as long as 120 mns.

It's a very popular ride: I don't expect the lines will ever go away unless another E-Ticket opens up. Even then, it's the Studios' best Family Attraction so it will always have a good crowd.

I have my fingers crossed that when the American Idol Experience opens, it will detract from the TSM line. I think that's supposed to open early 2009? Unless things have changed.

Disney is at least working on it. This past semester in my industrial engineering design class at UCF my group was chosen to work with Disney to try and lower the wait and work on efficiency. Our proposal ended up being like 40 something pages so if they can actually read through all that something might happen.

Hopefully after next summer things will die down a little bit, but about a week ago when the parks weren't crowded at all, it still had a hour plus wait all the time.

I have a simple solution, and I don't need an engineering degree to come up with it. Eliminate the FastPass feature and the line moves twice as fast. I have stood in the Standby line both when FP is operating and when it is not. The line when FP wasn't working yet (first thing in the morning and evening EMH) was still long, but it moved constantly. Once FP gets going, the Standby line experiences long periods of not moving and that is when the wait time skyrockets. Not to mention eliminating FP would clear up that bottleneck that occurs right as you walk into Pixar Place.

For the waits to decrease, YES, you must eliminate FastPass on Midway Mania. And do the same for FantasyLand. In my opinion, FastPass works well at other locations.

Yeah TSMM does seem to be one attraction that would certainly benefit from a FastPass removal in the future. If you ride in the first hour of park operation (when FP isn't running) that line moves very quickly.

In my opinion, FastPass works well at other locations.

There seem to be just a few places where the system noticeably slows things down. TSMM is certainly one of them.

You guys are too good at this, removing fastpass was the main suggestion. I was talking to two Disney IEs who came to UCF to discuss the project and they wre just down right rude when I spoke to them about this. Apparently they think Fastpass is God's gift to man and only makes TSM better. A few of the managers though are completely in agreement with removing Fastpass.
We also thought that changing the current fastpass into a single riders line, instead of combining the two like they used to, would help out a good deal.

That sure would be nice. I didn't ride TSMM on this last trip because I got a little spoiled by the SRL in the past. I'm not going to wait 60 minutes to ride this attraction. And because we were with a group, I wasn't able to get to the park at opening. I will ride it this summer, but I'll never wait more than 30 minutes for it.

 While I am glad to hear Disney is trying to work on something to fix the situation, I am disappointed that they are resistant to the FP removal idea. Without knowing all the ins and outs of how this ride functions, FP removal seems like the best remedy to me.

When I was there in August, I asked one of he cast members on line why there was no single rider line. I thought it would make the most sense. His answer was that there was a single rider line when the ride first opened, and the wait was consistently longer than the stand-by line.

When we visited on 12/8, the line for TSM was so stupid long, we never got to get on! Perhaps we are spoiled by the relatively low crowds in December, but we had decided early on not to do any rides whose wait was more than 30 minutes. (Two kids under 5 are a handful!) TSM averaged between 40 and 70 minutes, and FastPasses were gone by 11:30am.

Spolied has nothing to do with it. On my September trip if some nice couple from Houston didnt give us the dream passes they had we would have NOT rode that ride on a 10 day trip.

Something HAS to be done about that. HM is by far my fav thing in WDW and there is no chance in the world Id wait over an hour to go on it. Half hour yes, but 90 minutes? Thats insane.

Most importantly when I go in Sept there is hardly ANY waits anywhere. I guess DHS is the only park people attend now, and TSM is the only ride they wanna go on.

I have actually witnessed a "fluke" in TSMM waits. It's gotta be one of the only times this has probably ever happened.

While I was at the park, earlier this month, I waited in line, for, get this, 20 minutes. I am not kidding. This was at 4:00 in the afternoon too. I don't know whether the people with FPes just didn't show up then or what, but the line was down to 20 min for a good half hour/45 min...until they changed the time on the outside (Which had previously said 70 min) to 20 min. Once they did that, the line quickly went back to what I can only assume was 70 min again. It was way out the door, so, it definitely wasn't 20 min anymore!

Other than that, the waits I typically see for it is in the ballpark of 70 min or so. (During the slow periods)
