TSI Paintbrush hunt officially done

During a visit in September of '09, my daughter and I made sure we were on the first raft of the morning to TSI. There was a highly competitive feel on the raft as it was obvious that everyone on board was out to find a paintbrush. Once off the raft, everyone scattered. We searched and searched, and every once in a while, you'd here another voice from another part of the island yell "I found one!" We heard that they hid 5 paintbrushes (could be more or less, but that's what we heard), and after hearing a forth yell, we never thought we'd find one. After searching for a good half hour (did I forget to mention it was about 90 degrees and VERY humid), we decided to call off the search. As we headed back in the direction of the dock, we passed through the secondary raft load position, up river from the main dock, and there, above our heads, sticking out from the beams, was the treasure we'd been looking for. It was as if it poked its bristles out, just for us to find. Boarding the raft, we were told to see the CM on the mainland, where we were rewarded with FPs for Splash and Big Thunder. We didn't even care that we had won something....it was just the fun of finding the brush that made that Sunday morning, one of the most memorable in all our visits to the MK. Disney markets its theme parks as a place where memories are made.....you'd think that they'd realize that the hunt on TSI creates some of the best memories that anyone could have.

I think that this sucks but with fastpasses becoming more strict they cant give them away. And most other things cost them some kind of money. Maybe an exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card?
Dude...it's like maybe twenty or so fast passes at most. That doesn't make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. And then, there is the fact that CMs give away free fast passes a decent amount of the time in general. TDO just sucks, plain and simple as that and like to make poor decisions. Though I will I guess grudgingly say there is some justification if people were being stupid and searching in dumb places like the trees and over fences that your not supposed to go over...but even wit that, they could have done other things than just removing the paint brushes.

WOO HOO!! Whatever it takes...it's such a fun discovery for peeps who have been many times and then either stumble upon it or happen to read the details of extra things to do in a guide book....so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do hide the brushes...wonder how that would be getting past security...:D

Getting them past security won't be a problem at all. All they really check for are guns and bombs.

More like beer and 3D glasses. I wouldn't ask CMs to hide them though, they might get in trouble, esp if it's one of the area managers that put the kibosh on this

New plan: Why don't us fans bring paintbrushes whenever we go and start hiding them on Tom Sawyer's Island for Disney to find? That would be a nice passive aggressive way of making a point.

This is amazing. Either the CMs will be forced to take part, or the island will be so overrun with paint brushes that someone high up will have to notice due to the necessity of a island-wide cleanup.
