There is absolutely no question. Vegas all the way. I love Disney as much as the next person (hell, I work there) ... but seriously... there shouldn't be much thought put into this. Vegas is cheaper than going to Disney anyways. I'm going in August with some friends and it isn't expensive at all.

And to whoever said Disney has "mad hotties" .... this only applies if you're into pre-pubescent girls who are staying with their mommies and daddies in their hotels. The girls in vegas = :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Disney would be fun if you guys were going with your girlfriends or something.... but just 6 random guys??? Vegas, definitely.

cruise ship girls are the hottest...especially if you get a Carnival cruise out of Miami...and whether or not to go to Vegas also depends on when you are planning this trip. Vegas may be a bit too hot in July...and it's COLD in Vegas around Christmas...late September into early October, though...gorgeous.

I know the OP wants people to make a great case for Disney but in this instance, I agree with most everyone who has posted so far, when it comes to mancations, I just don't think Disney would even be in the running if it were myself and my guy friends. Out of the 4 choices you have presented, I would go with either Las Vegas or Chicago.
I have never been to Vegas but I do know that there is so much to do there that you could spend 3 days with a very minimal amount of gambling. You've got tons of places to drink, great hotels, tons of good looking people and compared to Disney you won't have as many families or annoying children to deal with. Only con I can see here is the weather, way too hot in the summer.
I have been to Chicago once and it was the middle of winter and I froze my ______ off but it is a great looking city and probably 1000x's better in the summer or early fall. If you were going in late August/early September, not only could you catch the White Sox and Cubbies, but may even be able to sneak in a Bears game as well. You could also charter a boat and go out on the lake if the weather is nice.

I have been on one cruise and would have to vote against this option only because if you only have 3 days it just doesn't seem worth it. There aren't too many places you could get to and from in 3 days, if you left from Miami you'd probably only go to the keys or the bahamas and then return and I think you'd be better of just going to the keys or bahamas if those are the only places you'd get to see. I would also say avoid Carnival, too many families with little kids.

If it does come down to Disney, I would call it an Orlando vacation and I think I would do everything BUT go to the parks. I just spent a week in the Disney area and never once went to a park and had a great time, there are plenty of bars to go to and once you are in the central Florida area the coast is a very short drive in either direction. You could go over to cocoa beach and charter a fishing boat for a day or do the same in Tampa. Also for those who do like to gamble there is a Hard Rock hotel/casino in Tampa. For a guys only trip i'd recommend Bush Gardens over Disney, less emphasis on princesses and more emphasis on thrills and beer. so to sum up:
first choice- Vegas
2nd- Chicago
3- Orlando
4- Cruise

Why should you all go to WDW?

BECAUSE ITS FUN!

With due respect to your friends (hi guys:wave: ), don't force them.

I can safely say that if I had a "guys" trip with my buddies...we could go have some fun at disney...our wives and girlfriends would know that we aren't getting into trouble...and there's a lot more than just taking pictures with Goofy.

I think with the newer thrill stuff can lure you guys out...I think that the important thing is to pick an appropriate time to go...that way you aren't chewing too much time in lines.

I think going to all of the thrill rides in the parks is a good sell to guys who may not head out to WDW normally.

Besides, with Downtown Disney, you can still get a few drinks in, not to mention the resort bars...

Best of Luck, and wherever you go, enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

Go to Disney, meet a princess who looks way better than a dirty old whatever....Hey dudes, Disney can be just as much fun as you make it. Give it a try, you might meet a girl who you could actually take home to mom. Do what ya want, Disney is just as good a time as all the other places.

From personal experience, getting friends, especially now, to go Disney World isn't the easiest task in the world. It's a little easier when I dangle Universal in front of them (sad but true). Most just don't see Disney as other than a kiddie park. It's so much more than that though, so I'm starting to go by myself.

Personally, if they are open to the idea of going to Disney, talk about all the things there are to do. Buzz Lightyear, Indiana Jones, Lights! Motors! Action!, and of course there's Epcot where you can drink as much as you want and take in the world showcase ...

There's so much to do at Disney. It's not just a kiddie park. Far from it. Something for EVERYONE to do.

And I know you really want to go to Disney but like I just said, it's very hard to convince guys over the age of 21 to even go for the day and I know that although they would have fun, they wouldn't ENJOY it like I would. So ... if it were my choice, I'd hit Vegas or Chicago, lol. Seriously.

2 of my friends and I (all of us 25+) are planning a short trip to Disney in Aug or Sept. We will only spend one day in the parks hitting the main thrills (ToT, RnR, Soarin', Test Track, Space Mtn., etc), the rest of the time will be dedicated to golf, Pleasure Island, fishing, eating insanes amount of good food, and some massages (one of us is getting married and apparently that causes a lot of stress).

I say WDW. I'm 23 and would take Disney over the other places in a heartbeat though I'm sure I'm the minority.

There's no shortage of things to do but the same could be said for the other locations. Disney is a city in it's self just like Vegas or Chicago. The only drawback with Disney for me would be the length you're staying. You'll have to set a quick pace to get a lot done or just pick and choose instead.

You could always convince them by telling them about "drinking around the world"....:lookaroun

I honestly think of all the things you shared, Vegas sounds the best.!!!
Sorry, but I think you'll have fun there. Disney's fun, but enjoy vegas while you can! I live in ILL, (30 minutes from Chicago)in a western suburb, but I think you guys would do the best in Vegas!!!

Thanks for everyone helping out with the posting. I will say this, Chicago will be next year and Vegas was out because of 2 of us having gambling problems. Its a split decision between a cruise and Disney World.

We are having a hard time betweent the 2 choices right now. Everyone likes the idea of Disney and we are all big kids. I just did a cruise 2 months ago and always love Disney so that is my vote. We are going to be deciding by tomorrow so i will keep you informed.

Disney has pleasure island, World Showcase at Epcot for good food/drinks, rides galore, golfing - I recommend the Swan/Dolphin for a group of guys, they have some great deals at times ($129/night), walkable to Epcot/MGM and a nice pool and bar if you just want to laze around all day. You're also close to the other resorts (like the boardwalk) if you want to hang out at ESPN club at night. You can also rent some boats on the different lakes and waterski or parasail.

I've never been to vegas and don't have any interest in going, so can't comment there.

Being from Chicago, can't say I recommend it - snooze fest and you're pretty much guaranteed crap weather. Ha, Ha... seriously, though - if you are coming for baseball, White Sox all the way!

If you are all big kids like myself then you can and will have fun at Disney. The rides are for everyone no matter the age. The shows are awesome and the eating is great. With that combo I am not sure how you could go wrong. to me Disney is an experience not just a trip.....

Vegas would be fun. Why don't you bo to DLR/DCA and visit Knotts and Universal Studios in California? You wouldn't be able to do a lot of the things you may want your friend to experience within 3 days.

Actually, then, you have just won your argument. Cruise ships have casinos in them. Disney World does not. Disney World wins.
