News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

LONG LIVE DINOSAUR!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

This is a huge problem with many of the concepts about Dinoland to me. Dinosaurs belong in Animal Kingdom. Extinct animals should be represented as a theme. Losing that sucks.

Personally, I would just throw Crush’s Coaster where PW was, leave Dinoland otherwise intact, and add to Pandora.

This works as a compromise, though. Additions of Nemo and/or Moana to make the region between the bridge to Everest and the Boneyard/Restaurantasaurus an Oceania/Pacific land. A big hole in the parks as a whole.

Man... this brings back memories riding Tron in Shanghai. I wish they had virtual queue back then.

It was impossible to get on the ride without buying a fastpass. Had to buy a fastpass (20 dollars for one ride).... go to a castmember who was holding a sign with the date and also a 'hat of the day'. They took a picture with your own cellphone. This picture you had to show to the castmembers at the entrance of the ride. fun times.

I saw the thumbnail and totally thought you were one of the Parkeology guys.

If you try to call me out on it, I’ll just tell you it’s “time to be movin’ along!”

I pictured a wave and a stepping out of the log immediately after this and it makes me giggle.

Here is a picture for anyone interested in what you are discussing here. I don't for sure, but I would imagine you would be able to wait for this row, possibly similar to how there is a dedicated line for front row at Cosmic Rewind.

I waited for this car one time in Shanghai, just to see how the ride feels without the motorbike seating. And i can tell you it’s a lot less intense in this seat than in the others. It feels a lot slower too. The magic is in the motorbike seating.

No
Thrill rides are always more exciting when there is a non-zero chance of falling out. That’s why I always keep my RnRC restraint 2 clicks looser than it should be.

I love that same feeling! I figured out how much space I needed on the lap bar on the Lightning Rod coaster at Dollywood to get some real air between the seat and me going over the hills, with hands up in the air the entire way. I love Disney, but I sure do enjoy some really fast and thrilling coasters at other parks.

I wish Lightning Rod was twice as long, fun one to do. Tennessee Twister scared the heck out of me, somehow ended up with a restraint that had 5 inch gap on my chest. I'm use to somewhat loose restraints, but it seemed excessive.

How does filling this seat work in Shanghai? Is it only filled with people specifically waiting for it? Or do they put anyone in there if no one is waiting for it? I don't want to wait in line for Tron expecting a bike seat and get seated in that instead.

I always wanted to sit next to Pooh sized guests under the original configuration of ToT. More air time.

You're making a lot of guesses and assumptions based on no information.

The people correcting you have access to people within Disney (or one of their vendors) who know what is really happening -- without guessing, without making assumptions.

Please stop trying to correct people who have real information and accept that you don't know what they know and thus, your guesses and assumptions are incorrect.
Not trying to pick a fight or be hostile, but I gotta say, just because someone is an insider doesn’t mean they actually know the motivations behind the decisions. You’re right, they probably do know more, but just shutting down alternative speculation is just nonsense. Same goes for the quarterly earnings calls - that you are very good at reporting. Just because leadership says something doesn’t mean it’s true. If it does, I have a bridge we should talk about that I could sell to you on the cheap. Or maybe Josh could sell you on the idea that park reservations are solely there to improve guest experience.

Edit: I think I did a time warp thing. My bad if this was a response to a post from a long time ago. My phone told me it was from a few mins ago.

That leads to epistemological nihilism... that we can know nothing.

Speculation is just that, mere speculation. It's truth quotient can be anywhere from 0% to 100%.

When we have facts that are actual facts to back up speculation, the truth quotient goes up.

And if we have facts that contradict mere speculation, then the truth quotient of that speculation goes way down.

When we have witnesses, that is 'insiders', who can vouch for things outside the public view, the truth quotient gets very high.

Just because we're not 100% sure of something doesn't mean it's equal to mere speculation. Having about a 80%-99% surety from an insider is very different from mere speculation which can be completely false.

Also, many who speculate love to do so in a way that makes it seem that their guess is almost certainly true (over 90%!) when it can be completely false. Speculators need to frame their guesses as guesses than as proclamations.

Also... over the past several years, there's a low tolerance among many, including myself, regarding fact-free speculation. We call that "conspiracy theories" and "science denial" and "ideological propaganda." So, when someone spouts off that their guess is most probably 'the truth'... I ain't gonna let that be. Show your work.

I see, conflating speculation about the delayed opening date of a rollercoaster with COVID denial. Are you made of straw much? The conspiracy theories are just out of control about whether what ride could be technically ready to open earlier. Chill out man, it’s a blog discussion.
