This idea that they can accelerate this late in the game is silly. A year ago they could have sped this up a bit. It’s opening in April because they scheduled it to.
Yep, it was determined a while ago that Cosmic Rewind was the main event for 2022 and into the holidays, and TRON is going to power 2023. Construction schedule was then optimized to that.

I wonder how much busier April will be now that this announcement was made........

I know that ROTR was it's own beast but I can't remember if park passes sold out for Epcot?
Yes Park Pass did become constrained around the opening.

I’m coming from the UK with my parents for their first time in 6 years and our first park day is… April 4th 😂

I’ve never been in the parks for a ride opening, are we going to be a part of absolute chaos? Will the rest of the park be quiet or is that wishful thinking?
I did our park reservations literally last night… feeling thankful for that now!

Given that the possibility of VQ for Tron is like 95%, the rest of the park will probably feel like business as usual. Of course if you go towards the Tomorrowland area and specifically Tron area, it will be swamped with wondering and curious guests. Peoplemover line will probably be more busy as everyone wants to get a peak of Tron.

Just be sure to be prepared to get a VQ at either drop! They will for sure be going quick.

You will need a VQ or ILL to ride. If not, you won’t actually get back there. For the rest of the park, it is the week before Easter. It’ll be busy.

The height requirement should help limit those getting a VQ.

Might see Space and a few other rides in the area with increased wait times also. People waiting around for their BG to be called will want something to do.
