News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

When I park hopped to AK to ride Dinosaur the day after Christmas, it was down in the early morning. I stayed nearby and it just reopened, but the app didn’t update yet so it was closed according to MDE. During that time period I was able to ride it 7 times back to back (able to skip the preshow) until a line finally formed.
It was one of my favorite experiences at WDW during my last trip. I just love the intensity and darkness adventure! Left, right, left, right!!!

I think Dinosaur could use a nice refresh/refurb/what have you, but I still really like it.

Considering its been 20 years since the movie was "new", can they at least go back to calling it Countdown to Extinction?

It won't reopen til at least Q2 of 2021 imo; the canopy needs to be assembled and constructed, along with its lighting package. On top of that, the track needs to be placed and the tunnel for the railroad also needs to be constructed. Then it can finally reopen, but there's still so many stages left to the project!

It was a Q3 project. If the stand down will affect that remains to be seen.

Was it ever stated that there would actually be show scenes in the tunnel? I don’t recall seeing anything about that, unless I missed something.

It will be just like Shanghai's. Plenty of YouTube vids out there that will show what it will be like.

There’s not. Just a tunnel. The post is a joke referring to all the people who were hoping we’d see some show scenes like they have on DL’s train

As far as we know, there will be no scenes in the tunnels for the railroad... no one has mentioned it. In fact, there still hasn't been any information on how they plan to construct the tunnel accounting for the train exhaust.

I would think they have some kind of ventilation system at the top of the tunnel in DL, but that wouldn’t really work for Tron. It would be very strange to see smoke leaking out of a futuristic looking tunnel under a neon canopy, so honestly I have no idea what they might do.

Ventilation can be ducted. It could also just be open enough to not require mechanical ventilation.

Hell, by the time it's done Tron 3 will be out. It'd behoove them to add something to it to make it a unique entity.
