I think they need to up their game I think they're starting to believe their own hype (some of it deserved) but they've half baked Kong, Volcano Bay, the Hulk Re-do & I question the current state of Universal Studios' direction with Fallon (a decent ride but not needed & adds nothing) and Fast and Furious...which seems odd.

By most accounts exciting new things are coming to Universal.
I love Kong, but you have to sit in the back half of the truck (the further back the better) or the effect they are going for really doesn't work that well. First couple times I rode it were in the front half and it was very disappointing. Anyway, they definitely need to step it up another notch to keep up with what Disney is suddenly doing with Pandora, Tron, and SW:GE. The Nintendo world looks amazing though I'll give them that.

None of the recent names have really rolled off he tongue, but then it will just me known as Tron by the guests.

I don't get the reason for these ridiculous names Disney has been creating.

Tron Lightcycle is a perfect name. Why does it need more?

The worst is "Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars". It's like 3 rides all in one.

By today's standards we'd have "Space Mountain Hyperspeed Rocket Launch"

My ONLY problem with this so far is the placement. It looks a little odd and almost "plopped down" right next to Space Mountain. I am excited to have the chance to ride this though!

I'm with you there. I like the idea of WDW getting the Tron coaster but it seems like it'll look odd right behind/next to Space Mountain (I'm sure we'll all get use to it) and I wish it wasn't another IP in Tomorrowland (or at least change the name).

I'd very much like it if they were to try something new/different besides capitalizing on IPs (like they did with Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Small World, Big Thunder, etc...).

A new idea that's about entertainment instead of marketing. I think those days are in the past, though.

Still, it's cool that the Tron Coaster is coming.

Right! They really do like those long names. Maybe they just work better in sentence form. "Welcome to Tron Lightcycle Power Run, please keep all hands in the vehicle and refrain from throwing gang signs while on your light cycle." :hilarious:

This shouldn't take entirely too much time? It's already been designed. It will require tweaks for WDW, but it doesn't have rock work. So rather "quick" project wouldn't you say?

I'm definitely hoping that it's a lot lower than Space Mountain. It would look odd to have two similar height buildings that close each other.. especially with the shape of the Tron one.

Looking at MK from the other side of the lagoon is so beautiful, I'm sure the designers are taking the skyline into account.

Maybe someone's asked...

How bad is this gonna make Space Mountain look (as in the performance and problems it has)? Is there a larger plan in mind that encompasses all of tomorrowland? That even perhaps...attempts...to blend in some of the old?

One thing that may help: Light Space Mountain up like they used to. It used to be a shining white mountain off to the side of the MK. Now it seems like it's mostly lit from ambient light from the park.

They may have fixed this since I was there as I think they have installed LED lighting on SM.

To me, if you're taking the ferry and are a little kid, your reaction should be, "Holy Sh**! That's Space Mountain!!" and not, "...is that Space Mountain?"
(in my mind kids curse a lot more)

Tron behind it could work if everything is lit correctly.
