Bingo. I'm looking forward to Disneyland's Innoventions going away, since it's so useless (the 2010's Epcot version isn't great either, but a tad better than Disneyland's). And while I'm not a comic book guy and have never seen the Iron Man movies, I do like the idea of a Stark Expo being the big thematic plotline to the new Tomorrowland E Ticket.

That said, until this gets announced by Iger and Tom Staggs at a big media event AND when bulldozers and construction walls go up, then I will get excited. They had a big media event over a year ago where Iger announced Avatarland and then.... nothing happened and the bulldozers are nowhere in sight.

Disney had a big announcement about Hyperion Wharf.... and then nothing happened for years.

The announcement from Disney doesn't mean much anymore. You've gotta see bulldozers in action to make it count for something.

EXACTLY. Avatar Land was announced last year and not only have we yet to see any kind of construction, we haven't seen any concept artwork either. The construction I understand but the lack of concept work? I just don't get it. Disney is iffy with their work and like you said, their announcements don't mean much anymore. Even the new Princess Fantasy Faire at Disneyland; I took that lightly until they started work earlier this year, and I'm happy they're sticking to the project. Disney has shown that they're not afraid to cancel anything they've planned. It's unfortunate. I'd love for Innoventions to go bye-bye and we get the Iron Man attraction, but as of right now, I'm treating it as an attraction that will still be here for some time. I'm saving myself from disappointment.

FWIW, Disneyland has a better recent track record of following through on what is announced. TDO on the other hand can't seem to get anything done unless Burbank or Chevy shoves money into their hands.

lol, I was going to say, "I hate you, but in a good way", but I thought that might still be a little mean. ;) Anyway, now I said it, but I didn't really say it... I said I was going to say it. You see what I did there?
Well now that you said it but didn't say it does that give me full bragging rights? ;)

Having been to both in the past 3 months I have to say Disneyland is the better of both resorts. The attractions have a better upkeep. There is a lot to do In Those 2 parks. It seemed to be a little bit more laid back and the people of Anaheim were friendlier. I lived in Oceanside and L.A. and went to Disneyland in the time when the parke weren't in the best shape, but now it's like night and day. Carsland and Indy are worth the trip alone. Jungle cruise and pirates were also great to see 100%. I usually go to Disneyworld 3 times a year now I'm going to DL and DW once a year. And if DW doesn't change soon I will be going to DL twice a year. Right now the only thing DW has over DL is universal is closer in fl

Hello M Rudolf, I feel the same way. I have been to both DL and WDW. And you have stated what I feel / observed. Loved DL and the last visit there was 2007.

Also, it sounds like EPCOT will not get anything for a very long time (if ever!). I feel that Disney expects to cruise along with the Test Track enhancements and use all the festivals to keep them coming in to the park without any new additions / upgrades other than Test track. Unless you have heard otherwise?....

I haven't heard anything whatsoever about Epcot. But I haven't asked either. I'd also love to see something there, anything but brazil being added to world showcase would be fine by me.

Gosh no Brazil pavilion please WDW has enough rude tour groups as is. And also to point out a few years ago we thought that was TDO's plan with star tours and DHS refurb a ride and cruise along, now it looks like it will get a lot of love

I hold Burbank as responsible, if not more, as TDO for the lack of progress in Orlando. I'm confident that they are well aware of the overall circumstances in Florida and have repeatedly demonstrated their comfort with how things have transpired at WDW over the last few years by rewarding TDO management for their continued cuts, closures and focus on DVC. As long as attendance and ARPU were somewhat reliable, I'm guessing the finance folks were tickled.

I suspect the panic that we hear about now emanating from TDO's offices is just as pronounced in Burbank.

Honestly, I'm surprised Disney hasn't built a Brazil pavilion. At this point, World Showcase is a profit center with lower operational costs than other areas. It's one of the few areas that receives foot traffic without being fueled by attractions. A Brazil pavilion could theoretically accomplish this as well.

In a time frame for where every addition needs to be profitable in 3 years, I would think World Showcase additions are fairly easy to quantify.

Thanks for the reply M. Rudolf. Would your contacts know if anything is coming to EPCOT?
And yes, I have had a few small (thankfully only small ) encounters with Brazilian tour groups while in the world etc. Lets just say Brazil would not be my first choice for an addition.

Also, Lee, Martin, Spirit, Drew and all of you other insiders; has anyone heard if EPCOT additions or enhancements / upgrades other than Test track is coming or being seriously considered to be green lighted?

What does opening a Brazil pavilion have to do with the tour groups? Are they really going to say, let's all take an extra trip 1,000 miles to see a pavilion that looks like where we live?

Nope.
Whispers about all the other parks...but quiet at Epcot right now.
