Treehouse Villas

Not sure if this has already been posted somewhere (I did a search but that doesnt mean much) but I got an email from my guide on Saturday that had this in it:


"Treehouse Villas (open June 1, 2009)

• • Owners: February 8, 2009
  • Other Members: February 22, 2009 "

As you can see, the email was straight to the point. Now I am just guessing that the February dates must mean thats when they are taking reservations for the villas???? And that 'Owners' must mean SSR owners????

Anyhow, I thought I would pass this on. And if this is already out there, mods can delete this if like.

Is there even a point chart out yet for the Treehouse Villas? I'm guessing it will be close to SSR grand villa point requirements, but maybe not exactly.

Well I guess I should post more of the information that I gathered before this email was sent to me.

The point charts for the villas are out..in fact if you wanted to stay in the THV, they are considered a 2-bedroom...not a grand villa which is great news to me.

According to my guide, they will NOT be selling any more points for the THV this is just an added perk for the members already at SSR.

Wow. No offense, but this sounds screwy. I'm an SSR owner and I got no news like this. No big deal, it's not like everything SSR-related goes through me, but I've yet to see or hear anything else that corroborates any of this info. But I'll keep an eye out.

Offense not taken. Ask your sales rep to corroborate this! But dont ask member services, they seem to know nothing about the THV and told me to call my sales rep.

Well, after posting this I looked around a little and saw other forums mentioning that the point values for the treehouse villas will be the same as the usual 2-br units. The only info I haven't been able to corroborate is whether DVC, as you wrote, doesn't intend to sell extra shares at SSR, leavnig it as "a perk" for SSR/DVC members. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really get a lot out of being in DVC and going to WDW, but for DVC to have all these extra timeshares, all those extra points, and NOT sell them? Very uncharacteristic.
