Trip Report Traveling with a 6 month old and two adult children - May 3 - 8 trip report

Hello everyone! My family and I are back from our awesome trip to wdw, so here's my report!

But first, some background info. Last year my mom calls me when I was pregnant and said that my Dad had a conference at the Coronado Springs at Disney World. And I was not about to let them go without me. So I told my husband we would be putting a good chunk of our income tax return toward the trip. He worried about traveling with a 6th month old, but like I said, I wasn't about to miss it.

Our little princess Lily was born November 2, and a few days later I was up at 5 am making our dining reservations - now thats dedication! And before I knew it - May was here and it was time for our trip.

Our travelers were myself, my husband Justin, our 6th month old Lily, my mom Larissa, and my dad George.

Lily on her first flight!

I was really nervous about how Lily would do on the plane, hoping that she wouldn't scream for the 2 hour flight. But she slept the whole time!

On the Magical Express

Can I just say that I'm not a big fan of the video they now show on the Magical Express. Its basically a commercial for the my disney experience stuff. I like the video where the characters are checking into the Grand Floridian much better ;)

Our room at the Coronado.

I stayed at the Coronado in 2009, and I really like it. We were in a building by a bus stop but still not too far from the main building.

First stop was Downtown Disney for some shopping. It rained off and on so I didn't take many pictures

Lily loved her Minnie

Next up, dinner at Ohana!

YAY! There's my favorite girl at Disney! (And you too Steph) ;)

Next year will be better. We will let the adult babies hang out together and complain!

From Downtown Disney we hopped a bus to the Poly and ate at one of my all time favorites - O'hana. If you've never been, I would HIGHLY recommend it. I could even do without the meat that they bring around on giant skewers, I'm good with the salad, chicken wings, and noodles. Oh, and you definitely need a Lapu Lapu - basically a cored out pineapple filled with rum - its most excellent. I didn't take any pictures of the food - we had a very tired/cranky baby on our hands.

My dad and mom very much enjoying their Lapu Lapus

The next morning we had breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace. I had never eaten here before, but I figured that Lily would like the Pooh characters and my bestie Megan recommended it. The food was very good, its a beautiful restaurant, and I love anything with a castle view

I was a little worried how Lily would do with the characters, but she LOVED them!

After a great breakfast, we headed over to New Fantasyland. This was what I was most excited about - last time my husband and I were there we missed New Fantasyland's opening by about a week.

We were originally going to ride the Little Mermaid first, but it wasn't working so we headed over the Small World instead. Lily loved it! She just kept looking around at all of the dolls. Since Lily was a newborn have have sang "It's a Small World" to her, so being with her when she rode the ride was very special to me - its memories like these that I can't wait tell her about as she grows - and this first trip is the beginning of many Disney trip traditions in her future.

And can I just say that these are the greatest bathrooms ever?!

Your daughter is precious, I hope the family has a wonderful time at Disney World. Take lots of pictures so you will be able to show Lily when she gets older, trust me they grow so fast.:) Will be watching for your report.

Another one from Small World

After Small World, we had heard that the Little Mermaid was open, so we did that. I took a few pictures on the ride and most were blurry so I won't post any. Up next was an early lunch at Be Our Guest. My mom and dad thought I was crazy because we had eaten a big breakfast I was making them eat again at 1030, and that we had to wait in line for Be Our Guest to open. But I told them this was the only day we could eat there and I HAD to eat there lol. Justin had learned to just do what I had planned and not to argue with me.

And I was really glad we did. The food was delish, and the restaurant felt like you were in the movie! When you go for lunch you can pick where you want to eat - the ballroom, west wing, or the rose room. We ate in the ballroom, but the west wing was really neat looking too.

After we finished up at Be Our Guest, we headed up Main Street to the Harmony Barber Shop for Lily's first haircut! At only 6 months old, she was a little young for a hair cut, but she has a ton of hair - and how could I pass up her first hair cut at Disney? I definitely could not. It was $19 for her haircut, but that included the "my first haircut" ears and a certificate. Was it worth it - yes :)

She's such a good girl :) You are never allowed to go without me again! I think my children (i.e. husband) will behave better if we go together Justin just has to be on board (it will make life easier for him if he is lol).

For real, we need to go together from now on. That way if they want to be lame they can be lame together and won't interrupt our good time

After the haircut, Justin and my dad headed back to the resort while my mom and I did some shopping on Mainstreet with Lily before we headed back too. We hung around the room for a while before Justin, my mom, Lily, and I headed out to Hollywood Studios for mine and Justin's fast passes.

My little Tinker Bell

We rode Tower of Terror - my all time fav! - and while waiting to use our Rockin' Rollercoaster fast pass we grabbed my preferred Disney snack

Getting sleepy on the bus

We weren't at HS for very long, so we decided to go to the pool

Lily's first time in the pool didn't go very well - i think the water was a little too chilly for her - but she sure looked cute in her Minnie bathing suit! After a poolside margarita, we tried to put Lily in the kiddie pool and she liked it a lot better. It was a bit warmer and I think it reminded her of the bathtub

The Coronado is beautiful at night

The next morning we ate breakfast at the Coronado. I made a quick stop at the front desk to get Lily a first visit button, and get me, Justin, my mom and dad anniversary buttons. Our 2nd anniversary was May 12 - a few days after we came home and my mom and dad's 29 anniversary was at the end of May. It is my goal to get all of them. The only one I missed out on was the engagement one but my bestie Megan got it so thats close enough lol.

Justin and I rode Expedition Everest twice - only a 5 minute wait!

We then headed over to Dinoland USA and did Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur. Dinosaur usually scares the crud out of my and everyone has to talk me into it, but I kept my eyes open the whole time! Then we had some delicious turkey legs at Flame Tree BBQ - pretty much my favorite place to eat in Animal Kingdom.

Next we used our fast passes for Kali River Rapids - while mom, dad, and Lily chilled in the shade.

And of course I had to have a Mickey pretzel. Notice how wet I look? Thats because Justin and I were the ones that went backward down the hill on Kali River Rapids and got the wave in our laps

We also had fast passes for Kilomanjaro Safaris - but I left my camera in Lily's stroller and the pictures with my phone were not very good.

Great report, looks like the family is having a wonderful time and it helps to have someone there that can watch Lily so you can ride the thrill rides. Will be watching for more of the report.
