Trip Report Traveling with a 6 month old and two adult children - May 3 - 8 trip report

Hello everyone! My family and I are back from our awesome trip to wdw, so here's my report!

But first, some background info. Last year my mom calls me when I was pregnant and said that my Dad had a conference at the Coronado Springs at Disney World. And I was not about to let them go without me. So I told my husband we would be putting a good chunk of our income tax return toward the trip. He worried about traveling with a 6th month old, but like I said, I wasn't about to miss it.

Our little princess Lily was born November 2, and a few days later I was up at 5 am making our dining reservations - now thats dedication! And before I knew it - May was here and it was time for our trip.

Our travelers were myself, my husband Justin, our 6th month old Lily, my mom Larissa, and my dad George.

Lily on her first flight!

I was really nervous about how Lily would do on the plane, hoping that she wouldn't scream for the 2 hour flight. But she slept the whole time!

On the Magical Express

Can I just say that I'm not a big fan of the video they now show on the Magical Express. Its basically a commercial for the my disney experience stuff. I like the video where the characters are checking into the Grand Floridian much better ;)

Our room at the Coronado.

I stayed at the Coronado in 2009, and I really like it. We were in a building by a bus stop but still not too far from the main building.

First stop was Downtown Disney for some shopping. It rained off and on so I didn't take many pictures

Lily loved her Minnie

Next up, dinner at Ohana!

Here's more pictures from our princess dinner. I had some kind of mushroom stuffed ravioli, Justin and my dad had lamb, and my mom had salmon - which we all loved! I wasn't sure how Lily would do with the princesses because they were actual people and not giant stuffed animals. But she loved them!

Lily even got a big kiss from Snow White!

Justin and Dad headed back to the room while me, Lily, and Mom walked the rest of the World Showcase and shopped. All in all, another perfect day in my favorite place :)

The next morning we got up early for our reservation at Chef Mickey's! Here's the first appearance of an adult child on the trip - my dad. He was complaining all morning because he had to get up early on vacation and his feet were killing him from blisters. I swear Lily behaved better that he did.

But anywho - on to Chef Mickey's!

Getting sleepy.

The waitress saw our Anniversary buttons and gave us free cupcakes

So about this time in our trip, my 53 year old dad turned into a cranky 2 year old. First he was cranky because we had to get up early to go to Chef Mickeys. We didn't even stay to see Pluto. Then we rode the monorail around, and he was cranky about that too. I had him go to Epcot so Justin and I could ride Soarin' with his and my mom's fastpasses. So we headed to Epcot and as soon as we finished Soarin', dad went back to the room. Adult Child Number 1

We were there during the Flower and Garden Festival, so here are some of the amazing topiaries

We ate lunch in England and had fish and chips - yummy! This was probably the hottest day of the trip, and there really isn't much shade in the World Show Case - so Lily was getting hot and cranky. After lunch we decided to head back to the room so she could get cooled off.

Rapunzel and Eugene!

After Lily had a nap, my mom came to our room and watched Lily so Justin and I could go to Hollywood Studios. Thanks to several people on this website, I was on a mission to go back to HS to get a dinglehopper. Yes, you can buy a hairbrush that looks like a fork! The Little Mermaid was one of my favorites when I was little so I had to get one for my mom, and of course one for Megan too. They sell them at the gift shop area at the exit to Voyage of the Little Mermaid show.

On the bus

We rode the Tower of Terror again and Great Movie ride - which Justin had never done before. We were looking around the ToT gift shop when one of the castmembers - an older gentleman - started talking to him. He asked Justin how long we had been married because he noticed our anniversary buttons. Justin told him it was 2 years and that we were waiting for our fastpass time to ride ToT again. The man told us to follow him, he had a surprise for us. He started taking us back to the area where you see your ride pictures and said, "how would you like to jump to the front of the line?" And of course we said yes!! We took the same route to take when you do the rider swap and he put us in the front row. We thanked him over and over again and told us to have a magical day! This is why you always wear your buttons!

The next morning was sad, it was our last day at the parks. Me, Justin, Lily and Mom headed to the Magic Kingdom and got there in time to see most of the opening show. (We left cranky pants at the hotel).

We headed through the Emporium and I found little stuffed Olaf for Lily! I'm not sure if it's gotten any better, but when we were there it was hard to find ANYTHING Frozen, so I was stoked to find Olaf. After the spontaneous shopping, we headed back to Liberty Square to do the Haunted Mansion.

Then Lily got to spend some quality time in the shade with Nana while Justin and I rode Splash and Big Thunder Mountain.

Time for a snack! We waited in line for about 30 minutes for dole whips - but my mom had never had one before - and she loved it.

We decided to hit up the Emporium on the way out - and my mom couldn't help but but Lily the plastic Minnie for her to chew on.

Next up we hopped on the monorail to meet up with my dad at Epcot. Justin and I booked fastpasses on my parents' magicbands for Soarin' - definitely one of our favorites :) Then we went for our ADR at The Coral Reef. I hadn't eaten there since 2009 and no one else in my group had ever been so we were all looking forward to it. And we were not disappointed!

Lily had an obsession with our buttons. We broke off the pointy part and let her just go to town on it.

I can't remember what the exact name of this dish was, but I know it was the only pasta option and it had lobster, crab, and shrimp. It was DELISH! As much as I love all the places I picked, this was probably my favorite.

After the Coral Reef, my dad and Justin headed back to the resort while my mom and me took Lily on the Seas with Nemo and Friends. She sacked out about half way through the ride, so after that we headed back to the resort too.

After some relaxing at the room, I got Lily ready to head out for our last time in the parks, which was the Magic Kingdom. Justin said that he didn't want to go, but I said it was our last time in the parks and that I really wanted to go as a family. Ugh, that was a mistake - but more on that later. Anyway, the three of us and my mom headed out to the Magic Kingdom. Justin and I had our fast passes for Space Mountain, and we also rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - which I totally smoked him in.

We saw the Incredibles and Frozone doing some kind of dance party

We were getting hungry so we headed to one of my favorite quick service places to eat - Cosmic Rays!

Ok, so here's were this trip became very unmagical. Justin was being very cranky, I shouldn't have made him go to the MK when he didn't want to - that was my fault. But we got into an fight in front of my mom - who went to the bathroom to give us some space. Keep in mind that we were not yelling or making a scene, we were quietly fighting. I told him to go back to the ----ing room and he said he was taking Lily with him, to which I said that he most certainly would not take our daughter anywhere, that she was staying with me, but he could go back to the ----ing room by his damn self. And he did. My mom came back right when he left. She asked if I was going to call him and I said heck no! This was my last night at Disney and I wasn't about to let him spoil it. Anyway, sorry for the rant.

So my mom and I took Lily on It's a Small World, and the Little Mermaid. We walked around Fantasyland and went shopping on Mainstreet

After we got back from the hotel Justin apologized. We got most of our stuff packed up for our flight home in the morning.
