hi there...i know in the past when we have taken travellers cheques nd cashed them at the resort we were staying at they always asked us to date ands sign them in there presence. Now my question is ,will we have trouble if the bank already had made us date them at the time of purchase? We never signed them but the ladt told us they must be dated and I know other years we did not date them till we cashed them, has anyone had trouble with this in the past would it be worth our time and trouble to get them redone????? thank you

I know that there is two places you have to sign, one when you buy them and then one when you use them. Maybe they have started something new where you have to date them twice as well. That would be odd if you don't date twice. It really doesn't make any sense. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Why don't you try the American Express travel card. They're just like the checks but you would use it like a credit card and you can refill it with as much as you want. The wife and I have used them before and they are great, very convient and easier to carry. Check into it, good luck.

I'd suggest you contact the bank where you bought them, and express your concern, and ask them why they were dated when you bought them as opposed to when you used them. Whatever their reason is, this way, if someone at WDW asks you, you'll know the answer, and you should have the name of the customer service rep who helped you handy, so it can be confirmed that this is that bank's way of handling travelers checks.

contact the bank immediately.

You're only supposed to sign the one place upon receipt at the bank.

If someone steals the checks, it won't be hard for them to deposit them or cash them at any bank

Travellers Cheques

When purchasing your travellers cheques, they are signed once. The person who signs them then becomes the "owner" and nobody else can use them.

When exchanging the cheques for cash or goods they are signed and dated in the presence of the person who will receive them.

I do not know what bank you purchased your travelers cheques at, but someone made a grave mistake. You should never date each individual check at the time of purchase, only the purchase agreement document. Take them back to the bank and request a re-issue, because a lot of places will not except them when you have the wrong date of usage on them. I agree that now the American EXpress Travelers Check Card is the greatest. Ex bank employee:veryconfu

You only date them when you are paying for something. You sign them once at the bank an sign once and date them when buying.

I would go back to the bank and let them know they messed up before you go.
