Transportation to Universal (not my idea!)

We are coming down to WDW in December & bringing friends. My son's girlfriend is a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and wants to go to Universal to do the Harry Potter area. And since he wants to make her happy, we'll do it. But I ABSOLUTELY refuse to drive there!! What is the best way to get from OKW to Islands of Adventure? Should we do taxi or a transfer service, (and who to use)? There will be 6 of us. thanks for the input.

Universal has tickets that include shuttle service from Disney, when you call to get the tickets just ask for that one. Or if you have a travel agent they should be able to get it for you.

Unless you can find a cab driver that will let you cram 6 people in his cab you will be looking at more than $100 round trip for either a shuttle or a cab. I am not sure why you refuse to drive but for $100-$150 I would suck it up and drive.

My sister does the driving while I navigate. Unfortunately, she has severe road rage. (I've learned to tune it out). I should have said SHE refuses to drive from OKW to I of A. But between now & then, she may change her mind when I give her the prices of transportation!

It is a pretty simple drive. Granted I-4 is no picnic but as long as you leave early enough you will be there in like 20-30 minutes and not be tied to a shuttles schedule.

A second option would include your sister, duct tape and the trunk.:drevil::lol:

I have used the free travel passes from Mears and it worked out great. If you buy a 2 park 1 day pass, they are offering free transportation from any Disney hotel.
You can also ask OKW to hail a cab van for you.

This is incorrect information.

We were there 2 weeks ago and ordered a cab the morning of for 5 people. Call your hotel front desk 1hr before you'd like to leave, and they connect you to a cab service. We had 5 people, and they sent a 11 passenger van. Before tip, from Coronado to Universal was about $35. Coming back we were dropped off at DD which was less than $35. After tips, we were walking away having spent about $85, or $17pp. Cheaper than Mears shuttle.
