Ok now that the 1st trailer is out I think its time for me to start my Transformers 3 thread. I can think of nothing better during the holidays than talking about giant robots causing mayhem!

It really doesnt show all that much. It looks to me like the bot at the end has the most resemblance to alpha-trion. I am really excited about this movie, Im hoping for the best one yet. So what do you think? Excited or wait and see?

Yeah, it looks good. Lets hope its better than the last one!:hurl:

That wouldn't be difficult. Transformers 2 was the most unpleasant movie-going experience I have ever had. How is it possible that a film about robots could contain so much racism, jingoism, homophobia, and willful stupidity? Besides the persistent noise I could look around me at the other people in the theater and actually watch America becoming a worse place to live.

^ I saw the Rifftrax of it a couple of weeks back; even those three gods among comedy couldn't make Transformers II un-terrible.

So the new trailer came out in the super bowl and I thought it was too short. It was nice to see some of the bots but you really didnt get a feel for the movie. I hope it was just a precursor to a longer version to be out shortly.

Agreed. My brains felt like mush after walking out of that movie. And my eyes were burning after seeing John Turturro in a thong...

Plus the twin robots actually made me miss Jar Jar Binks.

As for the new trailer, the shots they had in it looked interesting. Even if its a piece of crap, it still has to be better than Transformers 2.

The story though, couldn't keep pace. They kept stopping for a romance that was never developed (and no one really cared). The real thing that brought this movie down though was the constant stooping to this immature level. The had to have said @ss and balls 10 times (and that's a low estimate). Not only this, but those two twin autobots were introduced who were supposed to be "hip" maybe? They just turned out to be extremely annoying and to bring down the level of the movie as a whole.

<!-- END GOOGLE ADSENSE 180x150 -->Leonard Nimoy has joined the cast of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. He’s been hired to provide the voice of Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime’s predecessor as leader of the Autobots. That’s the transformer we saw in the Dark of the Moon teaser trailer, hanging out on the moon and looking none too happy about it.

According to EW the character will play a pivotal role in the new Transformers story, eventually coming to Earth where he’ll disguise himself a fire engine and take part in the movie’s big, final battle in Chicago.

For his part Nimoy has been interested in getting involved in the Transformers franchise for awhile. Back in 2009 he was rumored to be lobbying for a robot voice in Revenge of the Fallen. Aside from that he already has a long history with the world of Transformers. If you saw Transformers: The Movie back in 1986, that was his voice you heard coming out of the mouth of Galvatron. Plus, he’s married to Michael Bay’s cousin. No really, Susan Bay is his Nimoy’s wife.

For my part I remain slightly baffled that Leonard would come out of retirement for something so minor. After his appearance in the last Star Trek he made it pretty clear that he was headed for retirement. These days Nimoy is more interested in taking photos than he is in acting. Perhaps playing the voice of a giant robot doesn’t really count. It’s good to have him back on screen, in any capacity.

The secon film is the third worst film of all time, I hope the third one can be as good as the cartoon now that it has unicron.

OK here it is, the first real trailer for Dark of the moon!

http://www.michaelbay.com/blog/index.php

All I can say is WOW, it looks spectacular. The shot of what looks to be shockwave just gave me the chills. July 1st can not come soon enough. So far it looks like this is going to be an awesome summer popcorn flick. So what does everybody else think of the new trailer?

So, whose going to see it opening night? :D

unfortunately I cant see it till Fri. as I was planning to see it at the original opening date and had requested that time off. Oh well, it might be hard for me not to stop and go to the 10:00pm show on my way home. I might end up with a beat down from my wife because she wants to see it too.

From what everybody is telling me, Transformers 3 is a breath of fresh air compared to the debacle of #2. Heard the action sequences are awesome and the storyline is actually very good. Plus, there are apparently a couple great twists thrown in as well.

I will be going this evening, I can't wait! :sohappy:
