I agree with a couple of previous posters stating that clothing with sexual references is more offensive than . The problem (in my opinion at least) is that Americans on the whole are too repressed and uptight, especially compared to other countries. Of course, you should contact me in person to see my views on the links between sexual crimes and sexual repression in this country. :zipit:

Censorship sucks. Parent your own children, because it isn't my job.

Hmm.. interesting, I didn't go in the play area, but sat in one walkays leading into it, around the little planters. Lotsa benches out there, so maybe they moved them out there?
I didn't go into the play area itself either. The ones around the planters were missing. Which I thought was totally odd.

*er...scrounges for photo*

These benches:
pooh-park-benches.jpg

(Bad photo, sorry but I didn't have any better ones that showed the benches.)

I totally forgot until I saw your comment. It was night when I was eating my pretzel back there so I didn't take a photo. We ended up sitting on the fence railing instead. There were zero benches in the entire area.

Maybe they were temporarily removed for repair/cleaning/replacement or something? I wonder how long they were gone? I know they were there in February and apparently are back already so...odd. :veryconfu

I have never been on TTA when there was a crash... Has this been happening a lot lately?? Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come (i.e. TTA being removed...)

I wouldn't mind seeing a rehab on TTA, maybe something more futuristic..

Okay, I have to chime in on this one. While we can all see what you could spell with the mixed up letters, the fact is that it doesn't spell anything.

Then there is making someone turn their shirt inside out in public. They could not make a female do that, but I don't suppose they can make a male do it either. It was the persons choice to do so. As the most they could do is deny the person entrance to the park. The person chose to turn the shirt inside out in public to avoid having to leave and come back.

Someone said that a friend had to do the same thing because their shirt had a beer ad on it? Now, that I find hard to believe.

Oh well, it's always interesting.

I tend to ride TTA between 2-5 times in a day when I'm there. I had my first "crash" last month ever. I don't know how often it happens. I know they have minor shut-downs with some regularity (though I think all rides do) but I don't believe they often get so bad as to have a Trains Ahead situation. I coud be mistaken, though if it happens a lot, I've beaten the odds for years. Heh.

Keep in mind it's still a private establishment so they can refuse admittance to anyone they want to as long as it's not based on race or gender - check the back of your ticket or guide map. If you've got a problem with it, don't go

Anyway, thanks for the update. Always love the 'breakdown' stories.

No, but if I did, I would parent them, and not hold other people or their clothing responsible for teaching my children anything.

And if you tell me I don't understand because I don't have children, I will have to disagree, because I have sisters that are 16 years younger than me that I am very protective of, and if they see something they don't understand or misinterpret, it is my job to educate them.

If someone should have to take their shirt off because of an ad that Disney doesn't like, then people shouldn't be able to wear Universal shirts. Or shirts with Warner Bros. characters on them. Or any type of religious accessories, either, since people can be easily offended by that. And I don't like looking at fat chicks in bikinis, so that shouldn't be allowed either.

Anyway, nice little update, Merf, keep up the good work.

Actually, based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or ethnicity.

Being protective is not the issue. Educating a child is not the issue. Having to explain offensive materials to a child should not be necessary at a theme park and I shouldn't have to do it until they are ready.

Just because someone has the freedom to wear what they want, it doesn't mean that they should flaunt that freedom and offend others. Why not try a little tact and behave in a manner that is acceptable in public.

A Disney themepark is not a place to make a statement with fashions. It's a place where everyone should feel at ease and not be subjected to offensive material. I'm glad that Disney takes a stand to attempt to keep their parks as family oriented as possible.

It's not repression... it common decency.

This is why so many laws exist and the government has to police so many things now. People don't know where to draw the line anymore so someone else (ie. the government - THE MAN) has to make hard rules. Thus, now you're always going to be on one side of the line or the other. It's a shame really but that's just the way it is. At my work we can't wear shorts anymore on casual fridays because people kept pushing the boundaries of good taste -- hence, more RULES.

Again, I stress, Disney is still a private establishment so they can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't violate any national laws. Either take it up with your senator or wear a Mickey shirt :)

If you are going to be out anywhere in public you will at one time or another have to explain offensive behaviour in one respect or another. The only way to avoid not doing it until they are ready is to never leave the house at all, not for school or anything else. We live in a free society so there will be many things you are going to have to explain that are wrong to your child and some of those things might just be things that you particularly view as wrong and maybe someone else does not.

Okay freedom is freedom, there are always going to be people that don't have tact, so get a grip and deal with it. There are many things people can wear that might offend others that would seem insignificant.

Freedom is a double edged sword. You never heard the word 'crap' on the tv in the 50s -- then it became acceptable over time. If someone had the F word on their shirt (spelled correctly) it may seem inacceptable now but in 10 years, who knows. Eventually everything will be acceptable and it'll be anarchy.

Until then, someone please pass me a Dole Whip. I'm dyin ovah here

Please don't say "get a grip and deal with it" to me. That was rude and uncalled for. As for staying at the house, nope, not gonna do it. My point was simple. It's a shame that someone can't use a little common sense and decency when attending a family park.

One of the biggest problems in society is that everyone thinks they can do what they want and screw everyone else. Why not think about others just a little and make a difference? You might just find life a little more enjoyable in the long run.

Have a magical day!
