Meh... I'll wear it at MK tomorrow, and that's that.

The reason that your friend had to turn his shirt inside out was most likely due to the size of the and what saying was on the shirt. I've lived in England and I know exactly what you are saying about it being a clothing line. I agree but, as a cast member I can tell you that it is a judgement call on the cast member what is appropriate. We are told specifically that shirts with large type or logos are not allowed in the park. If the cast member at the turnstiles is wise and catches it prior to you entering the park, the are supposed to send you to the restroom outside the gate so you can turn it inside out. If you are already in the park, they can request that you turn it inside out. Your friend was most likely offered a choice of heading outside to the restroom or, if he was ok with it, to change his shirt in the plaza. No one is forced to take a shirt off in the plaza but the option is always given to head to a restroom if they prefer. I'm curious as to what Guest Relations response was other than issuing a fast pass as it is the entrance policy from corporate to not allow these shirts.

And for MKT, you may get in from time to time as some cast members don't like confrontation. Just because you get in, doesn't make some of these shirts appropriate.

what funnie i waas train to tell a guest to have then turn the shirts inside out when there was more text with the , and i work at the magic kingdon. Rules do change and i left in january so, and when a guest came up to the turn styles with a shirt that was bad i had them go to the restroom and come right back to me and i let then bypass the line.

It should still be the same as when you left. Only thing that you might have not been told is the size of the . If it is HUGE, it needs to be turned inside out.

Please tell me when and where you'll be. I have the day off and would love to see the floorshow!

Tell that to the thousands of british tourists that have whole families wearing those shirts in the parks. Common sense would let parents teach their kids wrong from right, as opposed to being killjoys to the rest of us that like to wear those shirts.

I will be at MK tomorrow with my shirt on, and if security asks me to reverse it in the middle of a crowd, I will refuse. Plain and simple. I have all the time in the world while security can escort me to the restroom for me to reverse it.

Any security guard that makes up rules/goes beyond what their power is should be fired on the spot.

Nope.. I was there personally. I love how peopl try to say how things went down when I was there and saw it.

They would not let him goto the restroom. They said he had to change it inside out right then and there. Even asked where he could change it, and they said it was there or he couldn't get in (we literally had jsut got through the gate.)

Someone's ignorance is not reason enough make someone else change their shirt, but WDW can do what they want in that regard, so I never griped about having to change the shirt. I griped about how they made him do it in the plaza. It wasn't security, it was a pair of a-hole CMs who were working front gate, but not working any turnstyles though each and every one had a line. Probably two coordinators with nothing better to do.

It wasn't white on black in bold print. It was a stylized version I didn't even realize said until they barked at him, faded black on dark golden brown. Guest Services said it was their (the park's) policy to not allow the brand - and as i said, evne to Guest Services, I understand that's their call, but again having him change his shirt in the plaza was uncalled for.

I was promised the front gate CMs would be talked to, management, etc... I didn't have CM names (though i know better) because it so blatantly nasty and had us upset/shocked.

It seems like the TTA has been having alot of problems latley. Last week, when we went into the first tunnel displaying Walt Disney's 20th century vision for the future, there was no speil that said so, the car behind us yes.
It pretty much always goes off every other car. That section has been that way for at least a year or so. I don't know if it's by design or a timing issue, but it's been that way.

I know CM's very well... I know the CM mentality, since I spent a decent part of my adolescent, and a good part of my adult life as one.

If I have never once been turned away, that doesn't say from time to time. That's every single time I have worn the shirts in the parks, I have been let in. I believe that the person that had an issue with merfs shirt was making their own rules.

So, you're wearing a shirt to MK because you're not supposed to..... Really mature....
Who ever said I was mature? I'm in perpetual adolescence. I've accepted my responsibilities as an adult, but that doesn't mean I have complete and utter disregard for authority that I don't agree with. I just have enough judgement to know what battles I can and cannot win. This one I can win... just like refusing to remove my shoes when going through airport security... or showing my Library of Congress readers card when I am asked for ID (it's a federally issued photo ID with my name). If I can't win, I strategize it so I can.

Well those families should know what is appropriate for the parks and from what I've seen, most of their clothing is not appropriate for a family theme park. Those families can turn their shirts inside out and make a fashion statment through that :)

But is a huge brand... What about Abercrombie and Fitch? Their t-shirts are LOADED with sexual inneundo... However, it's cute and coy. I am a lot more offended by young girls in tshirts asking for ______ than a shirt that says . I own some of their clothes and I wouldn't even think it was offensive. Granted, I don't own any of the pieces with huge phrase on it. But what about jeans? It's going to be on the leather bit on the back... would you have to drop your pants if your tshirt rode up too high?

If girls can prance around in bikinis or wear tshirts begging for some, why can't someone wear a tshirt like that?

But what about other brands that use sexual themes? I honestly think Abercrombie is more harmful than the letters . It's private property, Disney can do what they want, but if they really did make that guy take his shirt off in the middle of the park, that is not cool.

It amuses me what is objectionable. Someone can wear a tshirt with a beer ad on it. If certain brands are "banned," then maybe Disney could make this information available on their website.

So, rahter than teaching people to deal with different people, we should shun others based on a misunderstanding?

, and certainly not the shirt my friend was wearing, is not an intentionally obscene thing. It said MODERN, with both words on top of each others, written sorta gothic style, but faded out, black on golden brown. The word modern and were the same width, so the letters were spaced out (the match the word Modern), further emphasing it was an acronym not a misspelling. Each set of letters was about 2-3 inches high, if that.

Well I think that's totally different from the some of the shirts I saw online. Thanks for the description.

And before anyone says "Well he's not a Britt and he was being a cheeky American."

He got the shirt, several of them actually, and matching jeans, from doing an exchange term at Middlesex University in the theater design program which he just got back from.

Seriously - if he brought me a shirt that said:

"I love MIDDLESEX!"

Would it be too obscene for MK?
