Boy, I can't wait to get this, and then sit in my office chair and spin while I'm playing. 120 minute wait? Not today, Susy!

I know my son will LOVE this, Toy Story is his favorite Disney movie, we haven't been on the ride yet so this is great!

I haven't been much of a gamer since college and I'm way out of touch with that stuff---but I recently caved and got a Wii. Aside from being the hero of the house now, I am as I feared getting hooked. Wii Sports and MarioCart are about all we play, but I have a feeling that my kids will flip for this game. "Interacting" with the Toy Story characters, a ride at Disney, and Wii all in one? Yep, no brainer there. :D

Can someone tell me what Kingdom Hearts is? (told you I am out of touch)

I am sooooo excited! I love Kingdom Hearts soooo much and I am so excited for more non-film directly adapted games. YAY DISNEY FOR DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!

Any idea of a release date? I wasn't sure where in the 7 pages they may have said it.

Quick check of Gamestop and Amazon did not yield any results, and they are usually some of the first to post (often fabricated) release dates. I would imagine, to maximize synergy, the release would take place somewhere between the theatrical re-release of Toy Story in 3D (Oct. 2009) and the release of Toy Story 3 (Summer 2010).

After seeing the screen shots & how close this looks to the actual ride I have to say this may be what stops me from selling my Wii. (Its still in a box from the move I've been playing PS3) I'll say it one more time I hope they bring it out for the DS/DSi it would keep the kids busy "practicing" during those 90min. waits. I know this is what I do with the cell version when I am bored in line. Overall if they do it right this is a great idea & something tells me that their idea to bring it to the Wii may have backed up by good sales of the cell game.(just a guess I'm not sure of how well it did but I think it did very well based on them going forward with a Wii version)

According to the Disney and more blog it will be in 3-D.

Or you can look here:

I think they were talking about releasing the toy story movies in 3d, not the game. Though that would be so amazing if that were true. After watching that youtube video, if they could make the game anything like that, and add some kind of wii mote attachment that resembles the spring action shooters, this will be a great game. I dont know how they could implement all of that, but if they did, this is definately going to be in my house the day its released.

An issue I can see however is it being too close to the actually ride. I dont think it will cause the ride to suffer in attendance or anything, but by making the wii game so close to what the ride is, the ride wont be as special and unique. I can see a couple of issues with that, even though the ride is already essentialy a large wii game, I can tell you Ive had more fun playing TSM than any game on the wii.

The games will be exactly alike. The only difference will be that you are not in a ride vehicle and the screen is smaller and without set pieces. Other than that it is the exact same thing. Maybe' if the games were different then it would make sense. but from the description it is just the attraction on the Wii.

So you've seen the game already?? How do you know its gonna be exactly like the ride??

Someone mentioned a very key thing somewhere in this thread. They could just use the name, "Toy Story Mania" and make the wii game completely different from the ride, while having mild similarities. No one really knows what this game will be like. I personally think if they tried to have a 3d aspect to it, it would be amazing. Much better than having a spring shooter attachment, and I cant really see how either would work, but a 3d aspect would be so throwed. I am very eager to see how this plays out. This could be another carnival games, which reminded me of TSM when it first came out, or just like many of the other party/family wii games out there. This could be something that costs $20, but Im hoping that it'll be more like wii fit and costs way more. Something that has 3d glasses in it and comes in a bigger box lol, that would be cool.

And as far as the wii games and stuff is concerned, Im not a hardcore gamer at all. I had pretty much every Nintendo system that came out before the wii with the exception of the gamecube, but I think the wii works for people who arent hardcore gamers. My brother is definately a gamer because he has the 360, PS3, Wii, DS, etc. He says the same thing about the wii, that it doesnt have a lot of great games. That may be true for those who are the gamers and stuff, but me personally, I have had more fun playing games like Carnival Games, Wii play, than I did with like Mario Galaxy and stuff. Mario Galaxy is cool and a great game and I think the system should produce more games like it, but I think with the system being so different than whats out there, many people want to play games that are played differently than what they were used to playing on like Ps2, Xbox, etc. So I think the wii works, and is the best system out there right now.

If the game play will just be aim and shoot with the press of a button as opposed to a flip of the wrist (like for instance hoop shoot), then a pull string accessory can be easily prototyped and possibly sold by a third party accessory vendor...its simple mechanics really. If no one does invent one, I would probably build one if I ended up buying the game :)

Last time I checked I wasn't some surly, pot-smoking, dirty-looking, pony tailed carny who loves to give people a chance to buy deep fired goods or play a rigged game of ring toss. Could be wrong though.

And it's Midway Mania, that's what the sign says outside and in the ride (on both coasts) and that's what the designers called it. Anything else is just crappy marketing.

Basil Exposition: What's the other thing that scares you?
Austin Powers: Carnies. Circus folk. Nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage. Small hands.

I am not a hardcore gamer. Heck the only games I play are sports games (Madden) But I wish they made this for the Xbox 360. I do not own a wii due to the lack of titles that interest me and I do not like the controller. I do have a question Why do people bash things before they even come out? Could you imagine if the internet had been around when Walt was building his park? How many naysayers would there have been. Wait until it comes out who knows you may like it. And if you don't like it doesn't mean its a failure or it stinks because there would be someone else that does.

Before the Ride opened didn't they have some games on the website?

This is going to be such a fun game to play. I absolutely love the attraction and now, I will get the chance to play it at home without having to wait in that long line.

You'll have to buy the FastPass version of the game to avoid the line! :p

Oooh, they should make you wait in line to play the game! It could have a virtual wait time listed when you start it up (that's off by 20 minutes, of course) and have your Mii wait with others in the que, go past Mr. Potato Head, etc. Now you have a real experience! :ROFLOL:
