Toy Story Mania Cast Preview photos

OK... Don't jump on me...
I was really expecting (maybe just hoping a little too much) that when they removed the covers from the PIXAR sign the I would be the swing lamp. I'm genuinely disappointed by that. Everything else really looks very well done and I can't wait to see it first hand in June. Just seems like they missed a great opportunity to "brand identify" the area called PIXAR place with their own icon.

Anyone else disappointed by this or am I just hyper-critical?

Well, the whole idea was to replicate the real PIXAR sign:shrug:

I'm sure the swinglamp will make an appearance somewhere in PIXAR Place someday.

Yeah like STR8FAN2005 said it's suppose to replicate the actual PIXAR studios, and while I think it's a cool idea with the lamp, I like the clean look of the actual PIXAR letters like intended. But I would love to see the lamp in the Pixar Place area someday!

Oh and about the pictures, the queue looks amazing, Disney adds such great detail to everything!! Wish I lived closer so I could swing by and check it out!!

It looks pretty cool. Forgive me if this is a stupid question. As far as the shooters go, are you shooting actual discs or balls or whatever, or is it like buzz with a laser pointer or something. I missed that part in the ride preview that was posted the other day.

Toy Story MIDWAY Mania

Anyone else notice that our ride is now named Midway Mania like the DCA counterpart? I'm happy with that. Toy Story Mania was always a lame name, and I would honestly prefer they not refer to it as "Toy Story Midway Mania" either and just go with Midway Mania. Much better name.

Thanks for posting all of the great pics, Steve. And thanks to the CMs who shared their pics.

I agree that this looks much better than Buzz. There's nothing like a little hindsight and lessons learned to make additional attractions better. I enjoy the Buzz attraction and know I'm going to love TSM. I just wish I could make it down to the AP previews . Oh well, hopefully the crowds will have died down a little bit by the end of Sept.

Just got back, after four rides, I can agree with Mr. Potato Head...My life will never be plainia, now that I have played...Midway Mania.

:D

Just to be clear, ther was a no-photography rule announced at the start, so as per Disney's request, I have no photos on the inside: Still, look for an Update, and a full review later in the day!

I rode a few times today too and had a BLAST! The queue was SOOO cute and the game was really fun. I have a question for the people that rode. I went on a couple times and only got to 150,000 points. The high score for the month said 281,600! Could that possibly be real?

My neighbor on the ride got 177 000 first time --- sooooo --- I would think maybe an imagineer might be able to get that after a few rides?

I have an onride video.

Just got back was one of the last people on the ride today. They were super lax and didn't care. Wasn't told to not video at all in fact.

I haven't read the whole thread so forgive me if this is already stated but a red version of the lamp is in the queue by Mr. Potato Head acting as his spotlight.

Also speaking of Mr. Potato Head, he dropped his ear when he tried to take it out the second time. A cast member apparently watching for this had to run up and stick it back in. It was kind of funny actually.
