He also doesn't believe specific colors can convey specific eras.

So there's really no use trying to open his mind to anything new.
The ignorance runs deep
Why is it when someone tells you that although that may have an affect on you it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone sees it that way or with the same meaning, and you, can only resort to calling people ignorant. Not really a good rebuttal if you are trying to make it sound like yours is the only good viewpoint. Funny thing is I don't think you are ignorant because you see stuff that I don't even though it is all in your heads. Not supposed to notice it, really! How come you did? Is it because you are superior to those of us that are to ignorant to interpret it that way or are not as inclined to take a theme park and try and make it into a spiritual experience?

Many times in my life, I encounter crotchety old people who are entirely set in their ways. I find it’s not worth trying to argue with them. There is no possible positive outcome. If someone insists on being angry and ignorant, the only thing you’ll achieve by arguing with them is hypertension.

Eventually the old generation is a past generation.
Wow, yet another post that concentrates on calling people ignorant about an imaginary situation.

Because you keep saying things like this.

Art history, basic graphic design principles and color theory aren't imaginary things.

Yet, you keep being insulting to the very people that devote their lives to being an artist and creating the things we spend so much time discussing in this forum.

It seems as if he isn't saying those things don't exist and don't impact some people, he is just saying it hasn't impacted him. I don't see anything wrong with that as you can find plenty of discussion here on projects or aspects of the park that did and didn't have the intended effect personally. Kind of how people can say a painting portrays a certain emotion to its viewers while some just don't notice anything. That seems to be his basic premise ignoring some of the more defensive statements also included.

He has repeatedly said such things flat out do not exist. Everytime he gets called out on his nonsense attempts to shut down conversations he tries to hide behind the “it’s all opinion” line.

Additionaly, I read these boards for news and opinions, I welcome all, including his, which sometimes I agree with. Also, I’m greatful for his sacrifice to my country. The sacrifice he and his colleagues made, and those that many are currently making, is one reason that I’m free to hear others opinions on topics as First World, as Disney. Well, and also Al Gore, of course.😏

Hmm, I feel like I've missed out on part of the experience because I have never given thought to or even noticed the transitional elements so many people use as examples of the Disney difference. When I set foot into a land, whether that's by crossing a bridge or going under a sign, I figure all the theming from that point on should be consistent. Anything outside that area doesn't apply even if it's two steps outside the area. That's why I've never given a second thought to the whole shrinking down train of thought concerning TSL.

This seems like something you really need to experience on routine repeat visits to appreciate because folks coming in once every 5 years or so are so focused on getting to the attractions or restaurants that most of these details are going to go unnoticed.
I have found, at least for me, that since the advent of fastpass the entire park experience is so rushed and scheduled that you no longer get to casually enjoy the park and the little things like you used to when you casually went from one attraction to the next. Just like with the fastpass entrance that bypasses the backstory and theme of the ride in the regular line. But at least in the standby line you now get to spend hours studying every tiny element of the backstory and theme as the line hardly moves!

The reason you were called ignorant (which means you haven't learned, not that you can't learn), is because you refuse to accept that Imagineers planned these transitions with great thought. They did! It's a fact! It is not in anyone's head. Why are you arguing facts with your "ignorant"(not stupid, just uninformed) opinion when you have been shown repeatedly that those opinions have no basis in fact?
You just feel it is not correct info, I guess.

You don't have to notice the nuances placed by the WED workers in the land to land transitions, hell you don't even have to acknowledge them when you are in the park. What I feel you shouldn't do is waste everybody's time by yelling that they are not real. You were wrong, it's okay. Think of it as a chance to gain some new park knowledge. I am wrong sometimes as well. I just take my lesson learned and move on. Maybe you should move on from this topic and focus on others that you are more knowledgeable about.

A non-insult way of stating that is you are not aware of the fact, not that I am ignorant. We have ways of communicating and doing it as if they are superior and just absolutely start telling me that they know something that I couldn't possible ever know is just attempting to make it sound like I am not making any sense. I have a question to ask those that somehow think that those imagineers are beyond human and everything is designed to prepare me for what is coming up. Suppose I am entering, for example, Adventureland from the other direction? What prepared me for Fantasyland from that side and if the landscape carries beyond the Adventureland itself and into Fantasyland. Doesn't that become just the opposite. Yes, it can be subtle and it can give a hint, but, do they also have to insure that everyone is moving in the same direction in order to fully appreciate whatever land we are going into? And what other land has that advance information.

Someone has stated that I resort to the "my opinion" card whenever this stuff happens. He is right and the reason is because that is the truth. I have repeatedly stated in these boards that I was not a complete Disney nerd. I try and let people know that I occasionally see things differently then others. Is it always right?... of course not. But, there is a huge difference between actual fact and opinionated fact and, as much as I am always stating that I am not an insider, I have absolutely no "deep throat" informant meeting me in a darkened parking garage passing me top secrets. They are making their arguments mostly based on what that someone from Disney that they know is willing or able to tell them. I work from opinion. If it makes one feel better that having that one entrance invading a completely different land in an effort to "set the mood", that is fine with me. What I did relay is how it did or didn't affect me and I am the only one that I can speak for. If it doesn't fit their allegedly educated opinion, who gives a damn. It is like being on a 8th grade playground with everyone trying to be the Alpha Male. In other words if you believe it, believe it and express it. If you don't that is OK as well, and it is also OK to say that, but, adolescent insults do not make anyone correct.

I've found fastpass has allowed the opposite.
Since ride appointments are scheduled, we have more opportunity to take our time between appointments.

I used the word ignorant, because you complained about it in the post I quoted. I was just stating that it was accurate when it comes to you and this topic. Not that you are an ignorant man roaming the countryside shouting at anyone who will listen. Just not aware of the facts in this instance.

Transitions go two ways.

You can't have an opinion about a fact. A fact is a fact. 2 + 2 = 4. You can have the opinion that 2 + 2 = 10, but it would be ignorant and not have any basis in fact. That is what is happening here.

You can have an opinion on whether WDW has the best version of the Tower of Terror, but not an opinion on whether WDW has a version of Tower of Terror. Do you see the difference?
