Well because i have seen the lands at Hong Kong and Paris, and they are cheap and naff. Go look at Youtube videos yourself. If they would build them cheap and naff there, why would they change it in Orlando?
Arguing with you seems to be like arguing with a rock. And we are arguing based on three crappy pieces of concept art. Let's wait for the final product. I do know its budget is MUCH higher than Playland for whatever that's worth.

Too many people reporting on the issue of Toy Story land without having ever seen the lands in Paris and Hong Kong - they are in no position to comment really on the attraction. A few drawings offers no insight.

Then you have those who acknowledge the Toy Story lands in Paris and Hong Kong are awful and cheap but somehow Disney will change it for Orlando - but then offer no backup as to why you think Disney would change it?

I tell you what Toy Story is, a cheap little land, to keep the customers happy - a cheap padding, whilst they spend next to nothing on the parks, and roll in profits. Star Wars won't be built for an age.

And don't tell me Disney cant move quick - they'v been quite quick on the Disney Springs project, as that brings in money !

Wow, you have stretched your credibility to an extreme, and its gone. Disney Springs has taken far too long for what they have done. There is themeing, but basically its just stores eateries, not a complete immersive land. I'm not picking, Disney is what it is, but fast at construction isn't one of them.

As for every single word of your hong kong and paris argument. It is worthless. There is no rule, law, or otherwise that forces them to build in any way like they have done elsewhere. And you completely emphatic statement that it already is going to be terrible, is crap. You don't know, 100% guarantee, you don't know. Why can I be certain of it... NONE OF US KNOW!! There is a chance, certainly that you will end up being right, but you have no way of knowing that now. (and it didn't take a passport for me to be clear on it)

They are spending $3 billion on the parks and most of that is going into DHS. They certainly are not going cheap. $3 billion is a huge amount (focus on the billion, not on the 3, and you will see how large a number it is.... $3,000,000,000 if that helps put it into perspective)

Disagreeing with what they are doing is one thing, being a hater is another. Disney is a for profit company and their legally required purpose is to squeeze every single cent out of everything they own. (Sorry, the true legality is that they are required to provide the best return to their investors that they can, and they are really good at it)

Is there a spade in the ground yet ?

Is there a spade in the ground yet? I have to say that even if you are not him, your posts sound hauntingly familiar to a certain Justin Bieber boy band wanna be that used to be a member here. I think that he frequently used the term 'spade in the ground'.

And @MansionButler84, I just had to quote you due to the fact that I love that line. A rock indeed.

And just to summarize (again), an expanded TSMM, family coaster with interactive elements and a newly themed double spinner in DHS vs. 3 obvious carni-style rides in HKDL/DLP. Not really a comparison to me.

The Paris TSPL is cheap because the rides are visually awful. The theming whilst cheap is also pretty cheerful for the IP and actually works. The area provides people with some good photo ops and it's actually a decent area around sunset/ lit up in the dark. The problem is the rides stick out like a sore thumb...that's the aspect that I think will enhance this version....I just think they need another flat ride to pad it out a bit.

The announcement was made up of words and words have meaning. Without these meanings communication breaks down and society falls into chaos. This particular announcement featured an attraction lineup that was a bit more impressive than those available at HKDL and DLP. This really isn't that hard to understand.

Because they are still rides that will have the very same sort of 'theming' applied to them. If rides are what make it that much different and better than Disney has succeeded in created in amusement park but most definitely not a themed experience.

Well considering Toy Story is my least favourite Pixar movi..erm...brand, the land is not uncheerful for the weak IP. In absolute terms, the area even besides the three dreadful rides is cheap, daft and infantile.

Bamboo tryingvto pass for tall grass so you feel small, with big statues for photo ops, lit by strings of coloured lights I bought for twenty bucks at my local garden store.

Toy story lends itself more to decorating vs. theming. But again, this is a kiddy type land that's still a step above A Bug's Land in DCA. Let's stop pretending that Toy Story Land is the only thing that's coming to DHS, it's like criticizing the entire Fantasyland expansion because you dislike Storybook Circus.

Toy Story Land is not theme by decoration; its just a lousy experience. Themed decor is when the viewer is external the content of the theme. It is third person to themed experience's first person.

Here is DLP version. I hope DHS is much better. Unfortunately, it will just be bigger not better.

All 3 of the attractions at TSL are head and shoulders above the attractions at TSPL. Not even a competition.

What I expect from TSL is Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Coaster, Alien Claw Ride, Pizza Planet (hopefully), a gift shop or two, and great theming.

This land is going to have plenty to offer for families and it's not even going to be the showstopper. SWL should take care of that.

There's likely going to be some M&Gs as well. And there's the question as to whether a version of the Toy Story show from the cruises will make its way there as an additional attraction.

I'm not sure about Pizza Planet fitting it. Obviously, it belongs with Toy Story, but it is off on the theming since it is a restaurant for humans and the land has the conceit of the guest being shrunk down to the size of the toy. I actually think the best location for a proper Pizza Planet would be in DTD where you could go all out in terms of bringing the movie to life and have the games as well.
