Holy cow we just exited into Toy Story Land from TSM !!!!!!

Wait so you entered on one side and exited on the other? How will you ever be able to find your stroller?!

Keep in mind that until tomorrow, Disney's Hollywood Studios will have a land called Pixar Place and the least amount of Pixar inspired attractions than any Disney park in the world.

I don't think I understand the point you are making. And I don't think DHS had any fewer Pixar inspired attractions than the other three WDW parks and Parc Disneyland.

Shortest lived 'land'/neighborhood ever? Who has done the research? :)
Pixar Place opened shortly after May 16th or 17th, 2008. They were doing some sort of preview on one of those days. I know because it was the last day of our visit and we tried to get in :p. We had to settle for an angry pic in front of the sign...

So Pixar Place was there for 10 years, 1 month, and x days.

Maybe we can exclude that one as a 'placeholder' :)

Not to go down a rabbithole but you asked if Pixar Place was the shortest lived name. Muppets Courtyard received its name after the closure of Streets of America. It lost its name when Grand Avenue opened. Between the two, it was known as Muppets Courtyard on the maps. Makes for an interesting debate. On another thread, I know. . . :)

No, I know it's context... I mean it just seemed intentionally temporary... as 'grand avenue' really didn't make any sense until they finished that portion of the street you know? so temp name.. then roll out grand ave when it makes sense

Yes, if you don't like what other people like or would do, call them fanatics and lemmings. Excellent points!

🙄
I described the behavior as fanatical brand loyalty - I did not dismiss anyone in their entirety as a fanatic. There is a distinction. But you do love to police these boards, and in the exercise of those unofficial duties, you freely label whole groups in an effort to disqualify their opinions. Why, just in the last couple weeks I recall you referring to a significant group of folks on this board as super elitists and as some clever variation on haters.

PS: There’s the term below: “Haterrati.” Cute.

Well, I actually like Toy Story Land... but a lot of things Disney has done and continues to do comes from a corporate mentality of doing the bare minimum and the people still come, so why try harder. They save money, and people eat it up.

This land should have another attraction, bigger food element, and an indoor shop.

The feature is available to you if you don't like my comments on someone else's comments and the idea of 'discussion' bothers you.

The below isn't discussion, it's more thinly-veiled berating. Doesn't really matter how well justified you feel it is.

My track record here and the fact that I keep engaging with you should make it too clear that I'm fine with genuine discussion. But perhaps I'll consider that feature if this is how you'd like to use this thread instead of actually discussing the new land. Which opened today! I'm sure there are much better discussions for us both to be having here.
The vague regurgitation of the orthodoxy of the hateratti couched so as not to provide any supporting evidence that can be argued with. Good job!

It would depend on whether you considered Mickey's Birthdayland/Star-Land to be a separate land from Mickey's Toontown Fair. That area existed in its original form for just under 8 years while Pixar Place lasted a solid 10. Aside from that, I'm pretty sure it's the shortest lived themed area at WDW. At the other resorts, Bountiful Valley Farm and Sunshine Plaza were around until Fall of 2010, so they have Pixar Place beat by a few months.

The person I was berating (nothing thinly veiled about it) makes those dismissive comments all the time. That person is being called out on not contributing to the discussion. What cutting corners? Not having more rides which we knew two years ago? Or is something that was revealed today some cheap, ugly knock-off we weren't expecting? But we don't know because throwing out "cutting corners" is impossible to discuss without knowing specifics. And the specifics were purposely left out because it's just a dog-whistle call out to the usual suspects.

I mentioned in an earlier post about the decorations and "Pixar Studios" sign have been removed from Pixar Place. Does anyone know if they were up as late at close of park last night or did they start removing stuff earlier?

I took this picture at 6:04pm yesterday after exiting Toy Story Land. I had a feeling the sign wasn’t going to last come today, so I wanted a picture for nostalgia reasons. I would assume it was removed after park close.

I’m unsure if this is in regards to my lemmings comment... as I don’t think I’m someone who normally contributes most times to any negativity on this board, I’m typically a silent watcher.

But I want to clarify what I mean... as I think I was speaking about a broader issue around the world.

In my opinion humans are lemmings (not all obviously, this is a generalistation) for corporations and capitalism. We allow them to tell us what we want, how we want it, and we seem to fork over the dough at any chance. Disney is no different. They are in the business of spend as little as possible for most return.

They are not the Disney we used to know, and that’s fine... but my only point is that if people feel Disney can and should do better, the only way they will is if we don’t give in to this capitalistic corporate bull pile.

Now I personally think Toy Storyland looks great, but obviously it could of and should have been so much more.

This has been bugging me..... Why are Mollys toys in there even though it's Andy's backyard?
I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who thought this. And while we're at it, why I still Andy's Midway Games play set Toy Story branded. I have no problem with the toy characters tweaking it integrate themselves, but owning merchandise from a movie you exist in is straight up impossible.

Molly is Andy’s sister.

Idk which toys they’re talking about tho, and who owns them
I know Molly is Andy's sister, thus it makes sense her toys are in their backyard. Andy doesn't own the backyard, it's just referred to as his because he is the one we know. Bonnie's toys in the backyard such as Mr. Pricklepants and Trixie, makes less sense but then again I don't care that much lol.
