Agreed. I think the coaster looks like a really fun family coaster...nothing too big on thrills but enjoyable for the whole family.
Just watched the full ride-through of Slinky. The thing's adorable. That has to be the world's slowest coaster launch at the midpoint, but it still looks like an extremely fun, scenic ride. At least DHS now has a cute, unique coaster where before there was nothing. Over here in California, we get stuck with Incredicoaster, in which a wonderful, nearly-perfect coaster was actually made worse with a cheap, ugly, obnoxious overlay.

I guess at least from Disneys perspective, 99% of the people who will visit this land will never have seen the concept art and have no clue there were cutbacks

even fewer care to appreciate/consider the relative cost of such a land in relation to what was delivered,
or how it's ultimately an inadequate response to a borderline capacity emergency - no worries on that one, tho... that'll be appreciated more directly in about *looks at watch*

It would have no impact on dispatch interval and therefore no impact on capacity. The scene was included for “story.” I think it’s cute.

using stack for show - something tells me we haven't seen the end of that
... and he is cute, but the quotes are apt - like a lot of this land he's simply a toy story 'thing'

an amalgam of toy story and toy storyish things we experience, inexplicably, from the height of a green army man...
as all global tsl's, clearly aiming to deliver what was presumed as anticipated/desired instead of aiming for that which we really didn't know we wanted until we got there, but alas.

yet, there now, standing as it does, i don't feel anyone with interest does themselves favors outright refusing it without having been

So, reading the front page column on ride times. I am having a hard time with those numbers. For myself, I can't get two minutes to work out and not because of the quoted numbers. The first half of the ride says 48 seconds from station to brakes before the second launch. Are you just sitting at the first launch gathering dust for 20 seconds? Same for the second launch.

I'm not doubting this site and please don't misconstrue my comments. I guess that I wonder where the numbers came from and how reliable they are.

Did you watch the video? That’s the ride time.

I watched one on Youtube just now from Themeparkreview. I came away at 1:30 (ride portion starts 1:54 and ended at 3:24). The video cut out as it was entering the building for unload. I may have missed something, though.

Edit: Watched one from Attractions Magazine. That one was just under two minutes with a stack by the penguin. So, two minutes isn't that bad. Longer than I anticipated. Also, it looks enjoyable overall.

From the YouTube coverage (watched on silent), I'm happy and looking forward to our visit in October. Slinky looks like a fun jaunt - particularly the pull-back second launch. It's nice to have a Mater's on this coast - and it looks like it's at least as enjoyable. And the brand new Potato is smooth, clean, and amazing looking.

Just saw the final seating area for Woody's Lunchbox, and what a complete failure it is. Movable tables and chairs with no umbrellas? Are you kidding me Disney??? It was bad enough to not have an interior quick service restaurant with AC so people could find some relief from the heat...the land is already completely open air outside of TSM. However, now we are outside with no shade in the seating area at all. That is SHAMEFUL cost cutting. Look back at the concept art and the miniature model. The tables were the stationary type with integrated benches and umbrellas:

What we see here are loose lightweight tables not anchored to the ground that will definitely not support an umbrella (photo from Inside the Magic). Welcome to hell:

Who could possibly enjoy sitting outside in direct sunlight outside of December - March? How are people supposed to do to sit down and enjoy their lunch? Are there any other primary quick service seating area anywhere in WDW with no umbrellas or shade? I can't think of any.

Optimistically a theoretical 1,300 an hour for SDD and 600 an hour for A*S*S. On the bright side, at least demand for the attractions will likely be relatively low.

I was just reading an article/photo report on MiceChat about Toy Story Land and this was one of the headings under a photo...

"Disney confirmed with us that the Pixar Place area will stay open for some time, but will eventually permanently close since the entrance and exit to Midway Mania are now in Toy Story Land."

LINK: https://micechat.com/197802-datelin...-at-disneys-hollywood-studios-toy-story-land/

What would they do with the area? The only things that would remain is the Cars meet n' greet and the store?

Throwing shade: What toy-inspired designs could Disney use to shade and cool guests in those sweltering outdoor queues? Just out of curiosity, has anyone mentioned seeing fans or misters within TSL?
Since it is a backyard, they could get away with giant sprinklers that spray out mist. I believe I saw somewhere that there are some fans/misters in the Slinky queue.
