Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

That’s flawed logic. None of one of those examples are lands like TSL, they’re just rides. Lands are supposed to establish a setting for those rides you cited to exist, like buzz which could easily be in this land.

That's no excuse. Tomorrowland, Hollywood Blvd, France, Discovery Island, are all lands too which establish a setting for said rides. Toy Story Land just places full emphasis on the size difference instead of something greater. That's why Buzz could be in this land, because who cares what the ride is actually about, so long as you're toy-sized it works!

How is a land being a land no excuse for it being a land exactly? Honestly what you’re saying just sounds like nonsense to me. The same logic can be turned around on any land.

Going to an amusement park to be amused sounds better than going to a theme park to be themed! ;););)

People pay good money to get themed.

According to trusted insiders, there is a radiation leak nearby. Andy has moved all his toys outside while the Government has quarantined his house looking for the source of the leak and questioning his mother on charges of domestic terrorism in transporting the material.

As civilian members of the Government envoy investigating this matter, you are exposed to the radiation and physically are shrunk to the size of the toy. Because of your exposure you only have 12 hours left to live, so the toys take pity on you and set up games and rides to make your last few hours on Earth enjoyable until you die.

I hope this answers your question. :)
Still a better love story than Twilight

Just a reminder that imagineering views the project under this lens:

“We have to look at it from a human dynamic. You still have to be able to get in and out of these things,” she said. “It’s just that everything’s big. We don’t want you to go in with a scale and try to decide if it’s 1-to-20 or whatever. We just want you to have fun.” - Kathy Mangum, regional executive for Walt Disney Imagineering

Well, you know about it already, but, Disney cannot do everything for you. If you can't imagine you will never get it. If you can imagine you can let yourself go as far as you want to, but, no one is expecting you to get so into it that you start looking out to make sure no one steps on you. Reason, imagination and a sense of fun will go a long way toward the enjoyment of the area otherwise, just walk through to SWL. All that edge of the Galaxy stuff is much easier to believe I'm sure.

One has to admit that it would have been nice if they had bothered to take the same approach that they did with Pixie Hollow at Disneyland, where the props get larger as you make your way through the entrance/queue, giving you a sense of "shrinking" as you go.

I suppose, but, it really takes the same amount of willful imagination either way. We seem to transition quite well when we pass from Main Street USA to Fantasyland to Adventure Land to Frontierland and so on with almost no transitioning gradual adjustment except the music changes. It just seems like an effort to not like something because it isn't what one wanted as opposed to being anything done physically wrong.

You'd actually be surprised how much starts to change before entering a land... railings, pathway, plants... there's a lot of extremely subtle changes before crossing into a new land.

hey, that's the same person that said dhs tsl would be equivalent to carsland in dca... (ie. full of crap)
- it's a weak and easy way out land that's been virtually copied everywhere for that very reason, regardless of how it's spun

there are many more imaginative ways toy story could/should have been handled - (ttp @ tds as just one alternative, for example)
again, not to say tsl is devoid of merit, of course, cause it is, in it's way... but it is what it is; a 'value' land like pp which checks a pixar/ip box

Def agree that I would much rather get a land with the full scope and detail that is Cars Land when compared to TSL

I think you are putting a little to much pressure on a simple bridge. I am recognizing that happened but not until the music started and not in any degree that has been implied should happen to TSL. They did not mix Adventureland with Fantasyland until that immediate and sudden transition. What the reality was is that you could see just about all the lands from Fantasyland just by turning around 360 degrees. A bit of what today would be considered bad show and "not like it used to be" if you didn't have that tunnel between TSL and SWL. It would be a mortal sin.
