Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

If Hong Kong is any indication, that's the situation we're looking at.
I think Hong Kong has handled it well so far, given that they had limited options in terms of where Marvel could go (you had Fantasyland or Tomorrowland as the only truly viable options since they nixed the second gate), and I think the Stark Expo is about as good of a tie in as one could think of. It at least gives a viable reason for Tony to be there, and the faux-World's Fair idea is a throwback to Disney's history of taking World's Fair attractions and putting them in their theme parks. What I'm interested to see is how they handle the upcoming attractions. Why is there a SHIELD base in Tomorrowland? What's the reasoning for the Buzz replacement to be there?

They'll have to be careful if they want to maintain the level of plausibility that they've established with Iron Man, which I can't knock them for, given their efforts to make it blend in (I know the original intent was to have an alien spaceport, but they broke that rule almost immediately anyway). It certainly comes across as more careful than their stateside efforts regarding the same properties.

I honestly think the Tomorrowland concept is leaving entirely from the art that was shown. Space Mountain can easily be converted to a Marvel theme. This of course brings up a new issue entirely.

I've not ridden Mystic Manor or Shanghais pirates yet but they seem to have high standards.

New build in WDW? Tower of Terror. Honourable mention to Kilimanjaro.

I'll also add Horizons opened on time, had the highest standards, and came in 10 million under the original budget as required. So it's not unheard of.
Do you know the budget for Kilimanjaro? It is such a good ride with incredible theming.

The things you know are amazing @marni1971 You told me something I didn't know about Horizons. A major feat for a Horizons-freak like me. :) Thanks for all you share with the boards!

If this is anything like the version in Paris and Hong Kong we are in for a shambolic attraction/s.

I remember when it was being planned in Hong Kong, people were saying it couldn't be as bad, cheap and awful as the Paris version - but ultimately it was even worst.

Neither attraction is the same and it comes with TSMM already there.

It will be better. That's not saying much though.

Everything looks nice on plans - the Paris version looks good when you see the drawings. But when you actually see it in person i can't actually get over how awful it was - it was just so tacky and cheap looking. I couldn't for the life of me believe this was in a Disney park.
