That's good to hear. I was told that they were looking at cutting more theming from slinky to add in an enhanced Woody M&G for capacity reasons in the land.

I have never been in but isn't there a TS M&G currently in Pixar Place? Surely the contents could be moved over into a relatively simple building for a M&G at no major cost?

Or just have some outside M&Gs but we all know how much they are out of favour for over the top (and exceptionally expensive) indoor meeting areas.

The M&Gs don't have a high capacity, and end up holding a lot of folks in the queues. That takes folks off the over crowded pathways.

V.similar to what I heard about cuts but those were directing at A: SS, as many believed that having a double anything of a flat ride was just plain stupid, and would used the saved costs to look at putting that money back into coaster.

I really hope they put the money back into slinky. It's better to have one mediocre and one nice ride rather than two subpar rides IMO.

For those who have forgot just how disappointing the new version looks, let's go back to the concept art comparison:

The first one looks leaps and bounds more fun. It's more than just a coaster but also a fun tour of Andy's backyard, seeing all sorts of toys from the movies and a lot of fun sets (and according to the original description of it, things would be triggered and move, so there were some things that were more than just static effects).

There is nothing in the second piece of art. It's just so incredibly dull. And even what toys are there and the second launch, both looks kind of ugly with the red track (at least in the art they do). Not to mention the winding path that went through the coaster is gone. Things like that are just cool to have areas to explore and there to be lots of live kinetic energy around you.

As we all know the art is never gospel when it comes to what we actually get, but still it looks so lame and not really fun in the second. I could maybe understand them wanting to cut all the rock work for what should be a cheaper land, but come on, how much could a big plastic shovel cost? :P

From what I gather, TSL plans have had minimal changes.

The second piece of public art is still a good representation.
I can't imagine anything's different, but I still feel the need to ask:p- have you heard anything about timeframe? More specifically, is this land still not slated to open for two years?o_O:grumpy:

I've heard nothing new time wise.
Eh, that's what I figured. Still mind boggling how long it's taking (I mean, demo is all done).

I would want the money to go back into slinky, but if the money isn't to expand it but just more theming, as much as I hate to say it it might be smarter to keep a double Aliens. Just because of capacity reasons; this park will be busting at the seams come SW, it'll need all the capacity it can get.

Another reason DHS plans need some sort of people eater by SW. Preferably an omnimover somewhere.

Are these changes positive or negative? Is the (ridiculous) price tag still the same?

According to rumors we are getting a new high capacity ride but it's simply replacing one that's already there so for capacity it's pretty much a net gain of zero. I can't see the TSL rides having high capacity either.

Aren't Disney's plans for DHS just magical and exactly what this park needs?

Well, I mean, yeah, but the Mickey ride doesn't count :P

They are just completely misguided it seems. If the Orlando Sentential is correct about Disney exploring the possibility to block out pass holders when SWL opens, well, that's pathetic. If that's their plan to help the capacity then that's sad.

They could fit a Little Mermaid sized omnimover in the building that had American Idol/Sounds Dangerous (They could repurpose some GMR sets into some sort of classic Hollywood ride. I don't think it's impossible for them to get TCM to sponsor/pay for it).

Or I remember liking that idea thrown around a while ago about putting a Snow Whites Scary Adventures in the Carthay Cirlce Theater on Sunset (though I don't know how much room there is). Or a Muppets ride in the Mama Melrose area. Or even circle back to putting Mickey somewhere new.

I don't know or care, but the point- if they actually tried there is so much they could do. Spend some money Disney. This is getting sad.

The two track layouts aren't really all that different. Other than the details in the rockwork that will be missed, the only difference is they instituted a second launch section to replace a lift hill at the start.
