Tower of Terror's Echo has been misbehaving a bunch recently

From what I have seen on Youtube (cause I can't afford to fly out to Tokyo), DisneySea has an amazing take on the Tower of Terror concept. I wouldn't advocate for a change to the ToT in Florida but I do think it could benefit a little bit from a refurbishment fixing broken effects and updating the technology where applicable.

And I do agree that no matter the effect and if it's all that noticeable or not, IT SHOULD BE FIXED. Disney isn't some second rate theme park. Every detail matters.

I suppose in the park's current state this might be even more detrimental to wait times - but they could close one shaft at a time right? Unless the queue and exterior also need work.
They'd have to close off two of the four "lifting" shafts, since A&B both go to E and C&D go to F to drop. The two 5th Dimension hallways are completely separate, so work could definitely take place in one while the other was still in use and then switch once the first hallway was finished. That would mean cutting capacity in half, though, and I doubt they want to do that right this very moment. Maybe once GE opens. I barely know anything about the details of the systems that need repair, though, so I don't know how many things would require shutdown and how many things could be fixed quickly during hours when the park is closed. @marni1971 knows enough about the attractions to fill an encyclopedia, so he'd have a much better idea of what are quick fixes and what are major malfunctions. It seems like, though, that being able to get money allocated to non-essential repairs is often difficult these days. As long as we have people going, "Meh. It still drops. Who cares if some lights don't work and the timing of things is off?" it isn't a priority for Disney to fix things.

They’ve closed off one drop shaft before (last time was pretty unplanned and pretty chaotic). They can do it again. Most issues can be dealt with overnight if the higher ups so desired (it’s not as if they’ve not been told an awful lot of times) but Foxtrot being profile locked would need downtime for its side.

Hey @Rodj did you reach out to Disney yet?

Why would they need to close for a profile lock? I would think that's software related more than mechanical.

It's not hyperbole when folks who know 100% how something should run and has run in the past and can see that it's current state is nowhere near correct. Hyperbole implies exaggeration. Just because you're used to something in its broken state doesn't mean that it should stay broken.

Because it’s a very mechanical issue this time.

Looking back at the context of the original quote, I think I understand it a little - I'm guessing a few mechanics or a separate module allowed for the smaller drops but seeing that they're broken, the shaft can only continue operating with big drops.

I haven't a clue what i'm talking about but hopefully i'm on track

What exact email should I contact?

@1LE McQueen I don't think so, because the profile it is on right now still has one small drop in it(2nd drop). Foxtrot did the same thing back in January or February, but I do not think they had to shut down that side to fix it, it was probably a overnight fix.

Some parts seem to be shaft dependent while some other things are system wide. All four hallway scene's strobes stopped working at the same time around late Fall last year when the final Memory Maker lighting system changes were made, and both 5th Dimension Starfield timings have gotten bad at the same time.

@Rodj so check this out - when the ToT was closing at DCA I was pretty upset, so after a Google search I found the address for Robert Chapek:

Bob Chapek
Chairman Walt Disney Parks & Resorts
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521-4873

I sent a letter stating my distaste for the new M:B attraction. Chapek himself didn't get back to me (shocker), but a higher-up customer service rep did. Like, a C-Suite of public relations. She responded via Email. I sent another letter in with a response, and she ended up trying to call me; which I'm kicking myself in the teeth for not answering her phone calls (my job, that I HATED, didn't allow cell phones so I missed her when she tried giving me a call about it).

Nothing came out of it, obviously, but I was more than impressed with the response I got from Disney. I'd try that if you really want their attention.

For more higher up contact info you may want to check out this site too http://allears.net/pl/contact.htm
