Rumor Tower of Terror to gain new theme?

Is a retheme of Tower of Terror inevitable? We had the GotG rumours that eventually came to nothing (thankfully), but is it something that the management at WDW want to pursue or is the Twilight Zone theme safe?

I fear Disney overplays the Twilight Zone theme. I think this is what they want to get rid off. Most of DHS has been purged of anything that reminds the visitor of a Hollywood not owned by wannabe monopolist Disney.

But ToT's theme and atmosphere is mostly Hollywood heyday. The TZ is just a plot device. The modern emphasis on IP may lead management on to think of ToT as 'the Twilight Zone' ride, whereas to many of us fans the ride is about a visit to glamourous Hollywood.

I don’t think the Twilight Zone is necessary at all. They could pull the preshow altogether and change the ride narration to a different actor and everything would still work fine. Even with the couple references to the Twilight Zone in the ride audio removed, you could still hear enough of the story from the four pieces of dialogue to know what is happening and happened.

Oh HELL no. The ride is note-perfect as is. What should be done, if ANYTHING, is to plus the attraction's effects (which is something that I think Martin mentioned might happen) and add a TipTop Club Restaurant nearby. THAT would be stellar.

Tower of Terror 5 is LONG overdue. I can still envision the Tower of Terror 4 commercial in my head (with the elevator floor lights flashing around) and the park was still Disney-MGM Studios!

I've never quite understood that TZ tie-in. ToT could stand up well enough on it's own without an IP.

There have been retheme plans in the past considered. I don't believe any are currently under serious consideration, but Guardians weren't the only thing considered to grace Sunset Blvd.
