"We invite you if you dare to join us on October 27, 2007 for a running event that lies beyond the fifth dimension, beyond the deepest darkest corner of the imagination. Disney Sports is pleased to introduce The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K, which is the first night race in the Endurance Series at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort. This race is a part of the celebration of the 13th Anniversary of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ attraction.

Sunset Boulevard, 1994
On a night like this, long ago, a young movie actress named Shirley Malone and her husband checked into the Hollywood Tower Hotel. They laced up their shoes and went on a 13K run, knowing little of the nightmare into which their path would lead. For Shirley and her husband disappeared that night into a land of both shadows and substance, of things and ideas. The jogging trails of yesteryear are opening again, but this time they are opening for you. In this act, you are the star. What will be your fate as you brave the same path that led Shirley and her husband directly into, The Twilight Zone®."

13K: $65.00
6.5K: $40.00
Additional Post-Event Party Tickets: $25.00

So basically you pay money to run around mgm after hours? Sing me up, not.:ROFLOL:

Im thinking its something where you like go to the ToT and actually get to spend some time in there other than the ride, that would be cool.

Tell me they aren't going to put a bunch of sweaty runners on ToT after the run. That would be one nasty experience.

It sounds really interesting. I wonder if they have different prices for passholders though, as I certainly wouldn't want to spend that much.

That's a lot of money for an 8 mile race and then to throw $25 on top of that. I wonder if that's per person too. So for a family of 4 it's an additional $100. Most races include the post race party in the entry fee. So basically when you finish you have to pay $25 for water and bananas, oh and a ride on the TOT. I agree with the poster about having the runners on the ride after a race, that is pretty nasty. Imagine going on the RR and having the person in front of you sweat flying back at you at 65 mph.

The entry fee includes a glow in the dark shirt, a medal for finishers and the post party at MGM. that extra 25 dollars is for your friends/family who come to cheer on but arent running so they can join you in mgm for the post party. so for runners, you dont have to pay an extra 25 on top of the entry fee. its all included for runners.

I must have been typing the same time as the post above.

I checked the site and for the runner the post race party is included, it's the additional members that have to pay so I stand corrected. A family of 4 including 1 runner would be an additional $75. That still seems high to me though. It also had that it doesn't start until 9 p.m. I wonder how lit up the course is, that seems dangerous to be running in the dark.

That's pretty cool! It would be nice if it was some sort of charity event though......
