So this is a story followed by a question,

a few of my friends made a bday trip today for one of our friends. they went to AK MK and DHS, so while at DHS they went to the backlot tour, and were selected to be in the pearl harbor water special effects scene.... well they give you specific intsructions not to throw the towel in the water..... and my friend did... and the show was immediatly stopped and everyone was instructed to proceed to the next part of the show....

so here's my question;

so i'm just curious how this towel in the water is dangerous or pivotal to the show...... what bad things could potentially happen... just a bit curious.

The second part of the water tank demonstration involves underwater air cannons and other high-pressure effects. I'm sure something like a towel or other object in the water could either a) get stuck in a piece of equipment and damage it, or b) go airborne by one of the water cannons and hit someone.

As someone who has worked the Tank show, this is precisely why the show was stopped.

How selfish and stupid to disobey instructions like that. I hope the OP doesn't still associate with these types of people. :(

This was so unbelievably inconsiderate and rude. Since you said it was a quick B-day trip, I assume you live close enough and can go when ever you want. Most people that go do not have that luxury and spend large sums of money and time to get there. Then, you have the gall to come here to ask to have it justified? Is it not enough that an employee of WDW specifically told you not to?

This is a problem I have with WDW. Security should have escorted your group out of the parks, revoked your tickets (even if they are seasonal or annual passes), then blacklist you from ever coming back until you meet with WDW officials to apologize.

Obviously the CMs who told your friend this knew what effect it would have on the show. To think of all of the guests that couldn't see the rest of the "already too short" part of the Backlot Tour just because someone didn't follow the rules they were given. :brick:

Wow, I really hope that wasn't done on purpose. Someone could have gotten seriously hurt had the show not been stopped.

If it was on purpose...shame on your friend.

He did say "throw" not "drop", so I think we can assume that his friend is just a ________.

Just curious...why did your friend throw the towel in the water? :shrug:

Some people follow the rules, others only follow them if they think there's a reason to do so. (I have relatives like that, who ignore rules that "don't make any sense" even though there may be a good reason, but they just don't know what it is, or disagree, so they ignore the rule.)

We've all seen them at WDW. Or even on this forum. :lookaroun

So this person wanted to know why the rule was in place, and what would happen if he broke it. :rolleyes:

And they couldn't have just asked... they had to see it for themselves. :lol:

:veryconfu Not that they should have to explain(they meaning Disney) but just like with a two year old maybe they need to explain the consequence of stupidity!:shrug:
