Tour Groups in August

I'm sure this has been mentioned in the past, but would anyone know if Brazil will be vacationing at WDW at the end of July, beginning of August? Just curious to see what kind of waits there will be and if we'll have to deal with the typical tour group nonsense.

I remember my 1st encounter with a tour group on Splash Mountain. There were 2 people with identical shirts on in front of my wife and myself. 2 more show up and politely asked (in perfect English) if they could join their friends (This was before Fastpass so the wait was pretty long.). I was fine with it and I also made sure the people behind me were cool with it. So we let them in. No sooner than I let the 2 in, at least 20 more came pushing their way as well. When I started to try and put a stop to it, all of a sudden they forgot the English language and started swearing me up and down in Portuguese. Reason I knew some of the words was that I have a few people (originally from Brazil who work for me who taught me some words/sayings, both clean & dirty. Well I called them on the nasty comments in English on what they were calling me and my bride (on our Honeymoon in July '98). It quieted them down.
But the best part wasn't the shock that I knew what they said. It was the 3 guys and their wives/girlfriends behind us. Not to stereotype, but these guys were big (over 6' & the lightest had to be @ 275lbs) bikers (Harley shirts, tattoos, ZZ Top beards, ponytails, etc). Anywho, they quickly got behind me and started arguing with the leader carrying the flag. It was fine because we agreed to let them in. These guys were getting ticked. To make a long story short, some of them bolted the minute these guys got loud. A few others ran and wanted a CM to kick us out. After talking to me and the guys behind us, the CM politely escorted the tour group back to the end of the line. You would of thought everyone on line won the lotto the way they were cheering.
We ran into the biker couples several times during our honeymoon (we all actually were staying at the Poly at opposite ends). We had a few drinks to our friends........................

So what are my chances on our 10 year anniversary trip of something similar happening?!?!

Ok, Brazil says they'll be home on July 16th, so you'll be fine.

We won't go in July ever again because of this...not just the tour groups, but the heat, and crowds also. They are way too annoying and I like to enjoy myself while in wdw. You should be fine...don't be surprised if you see a few lingering here and there in the beginning of august.

Can you give them a call back and see if they'll be busy around July 17th thru the 25th? :ROFLOL:
I'm ready for them this year though, I'll be bringing my Pal BrazilBeater...Oh I mean my Pal Mickey. :ROFLOL:

Brazil said they would be in the parks in full force.

And they ain't afraid of no stuffed animal. :lol:

We were there one year for the tour groups, they didn't really bother me, but when we went to BB to deal with the heat my younger son and I were at the top waiting for one of the slides and I asked my son to not look in a certain direction, there was this teenage girl who had a model face wearing a 2 piece suit, with a Norbit body, OMG :eek: Scared the willies out of me, I didn't need to start therapy for my son if he caught a view of her. Makes me wonder what the heck was going thru her mind when she got the suit. :confused::shrug:

July is right in the middle of their winter. I don't know how cold it gets or if they have some kind of school break, but I would imagine this is why we see so many groups now and during our winter, their summer.

i stayed at All Star Sports one time and they were there. I still have flashbacks....
Oh, Lord!!!The chanting the yelling!!!!! AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHH

Whew,... They chant in their sleep I swear.

Not being mean but :rolleyes: I hope they are gone when we get there. I have never had such rude experiences as I had with these groups. In late August they were there but thinned out after the first weekend.

Thanks to all. We've always gone more toward the beginning of July, usually around the Daytona races and my wife's a school teacher. This is the first time we'll be there at the beginning of August. We'll just have to rent a couple of strollers and make sure I could ensure a few oops moments with some of the unruly tour members.......:drevil:

I'm just kidding about the stroller comment. (I try to be as careful and courteous to my fellow vacationers....)

I sat behind a group of Brazilian kids at Fantasmic. They were having a blast! They settled down when the show started, but, up until then, they were a lot of fun to watch. If I understood Portuguese they probably would have been more fun.

You have to be careful, though. Not all of them wear their assigned "I'm From Brazil" nametags they are issued at customs before they enter the country, so it's not always as easy to pick them out of the crowd as it should be.

forget about the tours...the heat is brutal with a pretty good chance of storms just about every afternoon...it cools things down and really weeds out alot of the crowds

There are many, many brazilian groups in July, but most of them are back by the end of the month/first week of August, 'cause that's when everyone has to go back to school.

December - february, july and one week of october (around the 12th) are the periods when almost all of the tour groups go to WDW. But, of course, there are lots of Brazilian people at WDW at any given time (and 1000 + cast members in december/january) - we're just not rude and obnoxious like the tour groups :p
