Tour buses collide at EPCOT toll plaza..

This crap is getting old... i drive on property at least 4 times a week, and I can tell you, nearly EVERY time I am there, I see a bus doing something careless....

Since the other bus that was involved was STOPPED, there can only be fault in one place..

This has got to stop.. it's getting ridiculous..

While I agree with your observation and others about how WDW buses are operated it seems premature to know fault in this case.

It seems well within the reason (well within) the fault may lie with the bus driver, however there could be circumstances outside our view that contributed in ways we don't yet know or understand. For example.... well, gimme a minute. Nope, I got nutten.

For 5 months I had the pleasure (I use that term loosely) of cleaning the Epcot Auto Plaza area on 3rd shift. Buses come through the area at all hours of the night and they never stop at the booth even though the "stop" sign is clearly displayed. I could be within a foot of the bus route but they never once slowed down. At 5AM each morning about 6 of them come roaring through the plaza at about 40 mph to begin their shift. Obviously no guests are around but it still goes to show you how careless the drivers are on property.

Now, with all of that, how can someone just drive into a parked vehicle? Especially with the location it was in the vehicle could be seen well within a 1/2 mile before approching it. :brick:

I guess this is the reason why my dad doesn't like for me to take the disney bus. I hope everyone is ok. There's been a lot of bus accidents at WDW lately.

Honestly, accidents can happen everywhere. I hope that you dad lets you take a walk outside without wearing a helmet!

From all of the times that I have taken buses at WDW and everywhere else, I have still been in fewer accidents in them (0) than I have been in my car (2, both cars that rear-ended into mine, oddly enough).

omg... unless the driver was incapacitated, or there was an equipment failure.. it was the drivers fault..

get off the disney fumes and come to reality.

Wow! That looks like more than a fender bender.

Agreed, that almost looks like the bus driver didn't even bother trying to hit the brakes.

I know last year's monorail accident was pretty notorious, but I have to believe that expanding the monorail is the best solution for reducing accidents, improving throughput, running on time, saving on energy costs, and just plain adding magic. I have yet to see a convincing argument that extra upfront cost wouldn't be worth it.

This has been happening far too much to be a coincidence.there need's to be some big-time firings at TDO immediately.

Does anyone know how many buses Disney operates? How many miles these buses travel each day? The numbers have to be quite high. I believe their transportation system is very safe. Accidents can and do happen, even at the happiest place on earth.

I wonder why it was just sitting there... empty?

Most likely the stationary bus had broken down and was stopped on the side of the road, waiting for a tow truck. The driver may have walked up to the toll plaza or over to the bus lot to call for help and/or get out of the sun if it was hot and no A/C on the broken down bus.

lets see....

Breaking down , turning on your hazard indicators and walking off seeking assistance = logical / legal

Ignoring the road ahead of you and carelessly plowing into the rear of a disabled vehicle = illogical/illegal

I wasn't quick to blame Austin in the monocrash, but this one is pretty clear cut

WDW is definitely not having any luck with their transportation lately. However, I find it hard to believe that such a big series of accidents is a coincidence.

And this is why I won't stand on a WDW bus.

So if a bus is full you wait for the next one?

Accidents happen every where. They are bound to happen on property. At any given time there is what equates to a cities population on property.
