Also, today I heard it from a CM. I don't normally trust CM rumors, but I have heard this elsewhere.

And it sounds good to me.:D
Adios speedway....

LEE! You are the man!
This has made my day!
The only way this could get better is if you told me the space was going to be used for a Discovery Bay type project!

BTW To combine a few threads from today...why don't we take Toon Town, The MGM Hat and put it into a Yesterdayland park?
:D

The Toontown at Disneyland is much more immersive and fun than the one at teh Magic Kingdom, but tehre is still sooo much more they can do with even the one at Disneyland.

The one at Disneyland only has one dark ride, and the rest of teh attractions are pretty much child-oriented, not that there is anything wrong with that. But just imagine what kind of insane E-Ticket attraction they could make with a "cartoon" theme. For those of you who have heard of teh concepts for the scrapped Roger Rabbit rides at MGM, you know what I am talking about.

Some sort of car ride though Toontown or something...there is so much they could do with that set up! It would be sort of remeniscent of MR. Toad's Wild Ride, crashing through buildings, explosions, tons of gags....And with a more wild, "Tex Avery" kind of mood than the traditional "Disney" type cartoon theme, you could really make it a fun, wild ride.

The DL Toontown is better but not much bigger, just a little better laid out. Besides Roger Rabbit and a few more kid friendly props not much better. They have a Jolly trolley ride that circles the area but it does not run very often. Maybe a Casey Jr type ride like DL for the refurb or storybookland ride. Build a new classic.

As far as the speedway, I know the ones of us that DRIVE to WDW the ride is a waste of space, but being Autopia is one of my fondest memories of DL when growing up, I find it a little greedy to 69 it for a new ride now that I have outgrown it. What about the little boys and girls that like it now?? (Somene mentioned long lines) Yes I agree on maybe eElectric or something else to power them. Even a small coaster type ride with single cars on the tracks to make it more thrilling and faster, also speed up the lines. Maybe a futuristic freeway to update it to the Tomorrowland area it is in??

well....aren't we Mr. Negative?

compared to what Tomorrowland USED to look like, it still looks pretty futuristic, in a sci fi sort of way.
and, um, parents with very small children need toontown...that's who it's designed for. so parents with children who can't ride the 'big' rides can still enjoy at least one part of the park with their youngins. :D

Then you understand the theme of Tomorrowland......The Tomorrow that never was, Today.

Oh, definitely! Its the only place, IMO, in Disneyland that is better than WDW's. Fantasyland is quite good there also :)

OK....Maelstrom went to her room and is sprinkling water on her T-shirt for the contest...let's hope she'll post a few pix so we can judge the contest....so far, she's uncontested but I think if we publicize this, we can get some other gals to join in.

Woohoo....WILD ON TOONTOWN!:sohappy:

Since there seems to be an increasing urge to do something with Toontown, we figured we do a little refurbishing. Mickey's House will soon be 'Hot Pants Showdown'...a very respectable strip joint with easy access to the train station for the inebriated. The tent is soon to become ToonTown Hooters, a bodacious place with fine liquors, fine food and fine women....heehawwww:sohappy:

Minnies House will be an unmentionable house with a red light on it.
