Too much money and not worth it..

Downtown Disney was replaced by Disney Springs.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn (and the boardwalk entertainment area just outside of it) is on Crescent Lake near the other Epcot Area resorts, across from the Yacht and Beach Club and near the Swan and Dolphin resorts.
Aghhh that's what I was talking about- thanks. Disney Springs is a totally different vibe than Downtown Disney... like a really high end shopping mall now.

I thought the same thing when we went. Didn't Disney Springs replace the Disney boardwalk? I remembered the boardwalk being much more "laid back".
Disney Springs replaced Downtown Disney, which replaced Pleasure Island or was part of I guess.
Springs was an almost total re-do.
You can buy $10,000 ear rings and $5,000 purses in some of the stores. It is obvious what kind of family WDW is trying to lure in now.
Before springs - - - no stores sold anything like that.

Yes, thanks for the clarification. Yes, very high end people. I cringe to think what Disney will be like in 10 years.

And this is a bad thing?? I mean they have one of a kind items but they also have regular tee shirts. And I disagree, I remember Main street the crystal store always had that elaborate crystal Cinderella's castle that one could plunk down a couple thousand bucks for.

Something like this. Always wondered who brought something like this. Lol wonder if I can get this as a carry-on. 😄

Now I would totally agree if the only thing they sold was 5000 dollar bags but world of Disney definitely still sells the usual suspects and please don't say that a "middle class" family has no where to shop at Disney springs

The operative word is in SOME stores. Lol most business actually like folks who have money, that's generally a good thing.

Maybe you should consider holding your comments until you have visited WDW at least once.
Maybe you should hold your comments until you read my original post. lol.

Before we left, someone told me Downtown Disney was replaced by Disney Springs. which is correct. Heaven forbid I slipped and mixed up Disney board walk and Downtown Disney today. :) Some of you get so testy, it makes me laugh. The rest of you are really cool and fun ;)

Seems like a justifiable purchase. :)

Kings Island offers a meal deal of entree, side and drink for $14.99. They also offer an "all day dining" option for $29.99. You can order a meal every 90 minutes all day long.

Or, you can leave the park and walk to your car (10 minutes) and drive to a Chipotle, Taco Bell, Outback, Buffalo Wings and Rings, McDonalds, Wendy's, Popeyes, Viva Tequila Tacos and Bar, El Rancho Nuevo, Dairy Queen, Jimmy Johns, Ruby Tuesday plus sushi, chili, pizza, subs, "diners", etc. all a mile down the road. If you run through the drive-thru you could have your food and be back at the park for a total trip time of 30-40 minutes.

It's not quite the same when you are in the MK. To leave you have to wait for a boat/monorail to get to the parking lot, (10 min) then a tram to your car (5-10 min), then drive at least 15 minutes to the nearest non-Disney restaurant off property. We are talking an hour to two hours (depending on restaurant) if you want to leave and come back. So, Disney's food prices are a little harder to navigate around.

You forgot Skyline Chili.

See bold and underlined from original post.

I know that Disney will continue to do everything we can to make our own dinig experiences the best that they can be...

...I’m just a low-level cast members, but these are my honest beliefs and values.

1) As a self-admitted low-level cast member you have no control over the level of food and service standards Disney has implemented or their enforcement. Therefore you cannot state with any amount of certainty that Disney will do everything THEY can (again, you are not involved in the decision) to make the dining experience the best it can be.

2) We have a laundry list of evidence that Disney has not and is not doing everything they can to make dining experiences they best they can be. Cuts to quality ingredients while upping the charge for those ingredients is well documented. Even when decent ingredients are used, it takes a decent wage to draw quality chefs and line cooks who won't ruin those ingredients. Disney doesn't tantalize with their pay.

3) Good reviews on TripAdvisor are no less biased than poor reviews from other diners. Some people have very low standards for what constitutes an excellent meal. Others are so excited by the atmosphere at Disney they honestly may not have realized the food wasn't that great. If you want a "case study" that more systematically and honestly reviews Disney restaurants look no further than Disney Food Blog. Their reviews prove the charge that Disney restaurants provide unreliable and ever changing quality in service and food. They will love a place and 6 months later report that they went back and had a poor experience. Often times I will find they even lean a little on the "pro-Disney" end of the spectrum. I've been to some of the places they liked and found them to just be OK.

Main take-away: I'm glad you like your employer. We like the park they run. We just wish your employer did as good of a job as you imagine they are doing.
