Tony's?

We've been going to Tony's on and off for 25+ years with mixed results. The first couple of times, we were inimpressed, so didn't go back for a few years. Then, for some reason, we decided to give it another try, and it was great! They had an antipasto plate that was wonderful. (I had them replace the calamari with a double portion of artichoke hearts, I think) My husband & I would split it, and have minestrone soup - also very good, and this is from someone who routinely ate on "The Hill" in Providence - and some crusty bread and we left full but not stuffed.

It then became a "must do" every trip - until they removed our favorites from the menu, and it went back to mediocre, at best.

I haven't eaten there in a few years, so might give it a try next trip. Or maybe not. :lookaroun

Hit or Miss

I found that eating at Tony's for lunch or a very early dinner is the best bet. I love watching the afternoon parade from the patio at Tony's and enjoying my Spaghetti & Meatballs.

Trying to eat dinner at a regular time is another story. My Theory with the poor results you get at TTS from time to time come with being tired, hungry and cranky late in the day that had to wait usually a long time for a plate of spaghetti. In turn, the wait staff that has to deal with the tired, hungry, cranky people and that will wear on anybody after awhile. Sure the prices are sky high for Ragu & processed meatballs with noodles but take a second and look where you are! Smile and share a noodle kiss with you significant other.:)

Might be true, but every restaurant at WDW would experience this as well, and most restaurants at WDW provide consistantly good service and food. So I don't think this is a valid reason for the problems at Tony's even though it might be the correct one.

We ate there last week and found it pretty good. We had steaks and chicken parm. and we all enjoyed them. The desserts were really good. I was shocked at how fast our food came- very fast!! This happened everywhere we went! We had barely ordered and our food was out- crazy. They must have it all prepared ahead of time and ready but like I said it was the same everywhere we ate last week at WDW. I would recommend giving it a try we had a good time. Our server was great and the one next to us was great too.

I've read many complaints about Tony's, but I honestly don't see where they come from!
Its a tradition for my family to eat there the first night that we arrive at WDW and we have been doing so since our very first trip in 2003.
It is an excellent restaurant with fantastic food and splendid service. The atmosphere is lovely, especially if you sit in the front room where all the windows are.

Have eaten there on and off over the years, and don't have any complaints. It's not my top pick at WDW, but I'll go back. On our trip a few weeks ago, our server was excellent - one of the best we had during our two-week stay.

We really enjoyed the ice cream bomb, which had been recommended to us by our server at Le Cellier.
