Has anyone else had problems with Tony's? Tell if you have and what the problems were. We went once, and loved it, so we went back. We couldnt tell what was worse, the service or the food!

I would still say that it is .....OK....
Close quarters, noisy, reduced menu...but far from the worst, and better than counter food.

I've never eaten there, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but the menu looks pretentious to me and the prices seem very high. MK is pretty poor when it comes to table service menus. I'd rather spend the same amount of money at one of the MK resort restaurants instead.

Ive eaten in there a couple of times and I think that the food is pretty good actually. I have found though, because my parents have gone and they show up later than I do, that the service there and quality of food is better when you show up early.
I guess it also comes down to a matter of opinion.

We had concerns with the service. It was packed and there were people screaming at the manager. Our food was cold and not very good. There are just better places to eat.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I agree with thd poster.
My DH and i thought the food was horrible and our waiter was very rude!
The only thing good was my desert.
Oh and we had ressies and still waited close to 2 hrs for a table b/c of walkins and the computers went down(this happens but they handled it horribly).
Will never go back again!!! Every other ressie we had was wonderful though.

See it's all a matter of opinion. We went to Tony's this past June, We had a great server (I don't remember his name) and our party of three all loved what we ordered. My daughter loved her pizza. (Alot of people love the place at Epcot in Mexico, I personally thought the food wasn't good and it was to $$)

I personally have never eaten at Tony's but a friend of mine ate there about a year ago with her DS7 and DD10. Shortly after eating her DS unexpectedly threw up his salmon (so unexpectedly it happened in the middle of the restaurant). The manager was so rude and nasty and he accused my friend of having her son vomit on purpose so she could get the meals for free. She told him she didn't want the meals for free she just wanted the check as quickly as possible so she could leave.

That sounds really horrible. How rude to suggest that it was done on purpose.

She was so angry that he would even suggest it. When she got back to the resort (she is a DVC member but, I'm not sure where she was staying) she mentioned it to a CM and they told her to call Disney directly but, she told them it was o.k. she just needed to vent. Anyway, she received a call from someone (I'm not sure if it was the resort manager or another Disney employee) and they apologized profusely for the restaurant managers actions and they gave her a credit for her meals. She told them it wasn't necessary but, they did it anyway which I thought was really nice of Disney.

Went once several years ago. The service was bad and the food was not worth the price. I think the meatball, thats right singular, was the size of a baseball and was not good at all. I'd forgotten I had even eaten there until I saw your thread. I must have repressed it. Mama Melrose was much better.

I really liked Tony's back in May of 07' , but then I ate there in 08' (right after they changed the dinning plan to not include app., or tip). It was not that good, but my wife still liked it. We went there our last trip (March 08'), and we will never go back. It was our first day, so I don't know if it was the airplane ride, or what, but I felt sick as soon as we walked out of the place. Then about 3 hours later, my wife became so sick, she could keep anything down for 3 days :hurl: . Needless to say, I will never go back to Tonys. It's a shame though, because I really enjoy the feel of the place itself :(

We have been there several times - in 2004, 2007 and just 10 days ago. We have always had attentive, friendly servers and wonderful food. But we have usually been there early and always with ADRs.

To me it is an Olive Garden clone

Nothing really special. Churn it out uninspired "American Italian" food.

It is not bad - just not anything above run of the mill chain food. The two times I have eaten there (both dinners) the service was fine and nobody tossed their cookies during or after the meal.

Ate there for lunch in November 2007 and loved it. We thought the food was good (dessert especially) and our server was wonderful. I'm planning on eating there again on my solo trip this December.

We ate there this summer and we had a horrible experience. There was a severe bug infestation in the restaurant...bugs flying all around us, stuck in the butter, floating in our drinks, landing all over our food...it was awful. Looking back, I don't know why on earth we even stayed. We should have left. But, it was the last night of our vacation, we were tired, and did not want the night to end with any drama.

I can't say with 100% certainty how I felt about the food because the bugs were grossing me out so much and taking my appetite away. I'd say the food was average. Someone compared it to the Olive Garden...I would go as far to say that the Olive Garden is actually a step above Tony's.

But what I can say with 100% certainty is that our experience was bad enough that we will not be giving Tony's a second chance....ever.

Now I'm really questioning whether we want to keep our ressie at Tony's in a couple of weeks...we had hoped by making the earliest lunch ressie we could, the food would be at its freshest. But I'm seeing so many comments about people getting sick or being treated rudely, not to mention that the best comment made on here is that the food is just 'okay', makes me feel we'll be wasting our TS credit by eating here.
