Tomorrowland's Future

"Original

If you mean the original Rex Allen recording from decades earlier, you are correct. I'm still searching for documentation of the lyrics of the first version in America Sings. I'm actually surprised that there is no detailed documentation online of the controversy from 1974.
I just relistened to the original recording on YouTube. He definitely says "Was it Pancho from the rancho? Did he do this because I kissed his wife?” According to Jim Hill, Mel Blanc did the voice for it. WDI changed it later because Mexican visitors complained about the stereotype.

I think a good theme Disney could use for a revamped Tomorrowland is time travel. I've always thought that time travel was universally known as futuristic and due to it being scientifically impossible (as far as I know;)) it would never actually get outdated. I agree with the thought of Disney being afraid of attacking what the "new" future is, especially since today's future and 10 years from now's future could be dramatically different. However, if they use concepts that may never be possible then the quality and life of the attractions would increase.

Disney is already using unrealistic concepts for over half the Tomorrowland attractions.

The biggest issue with Tomorrowland thematically today is that it lacks cohesion. It's a mishmash of random IPs, architectural styles, transportation modes, and ideas, and none of them have even the slightest connection to the future.

I stand corrected. My recollection was faulty. It took me many tries to find an original recording from the attraction and not the Old Rex Allen version.

You'll have to muster up your courage again for Space Mountain at DLP. Not only is it a coaster in the dark it's a coaster in the dark that goes upside down.
Space Mountain Mission 2 in Paris is definitely my favorite Space Mountain of any Disney Park around the world. Tied for second for me are the original Anaheim version and the Tokyo version since they're essentially the same ride. Lastly of the versions I've been on is WDW's. It's not that it's bad, it is the version I've been on most, it's just the least interesting.

And speaking of Space Mountain, how well has the Hyperspace overlay been received? I'm not that up to date with DLR news and I'm just curious since I've not been in seven years.

Who shot the hole in my sombrero?
Who put the bullet through my hat?
Who shot the hole in my sombrero?
Who would do a terrible thing like that?

I can't figure who pulled that trigger.
Do you think my exwife is back in town?

or originally,
Was it Pancho from the rancho?
Did he do this because I kissed his wife?

You were right about the original. But the revised version is "You don't reckon' my old wife could be back in town". I know it's a minor quibble compared to my mistake, but still....

Someone in one of these threads said that it had a 90 minute wait posted at some point yesterday afternoon. Apparently it's extremely popular.

Just watching the times on that side of the park over the last couple of days, it is crazy how many people are over there compared to the rest of the park. Tomorrowland must be pretty successful for a land with a Star Wars overlay that every Disney fan boy hates.

It's the casual visitors that are causing that, not the fan boys (and girls.)

That part of the park was packed two weeks ago too. It was difficult navigating it with my sister's scooter.

I totally agree with you. All the fan boys/girls have already done it. These are tourists mobbing the area. It's amazing how packed that area is when only premium APs are in the park.

While in line for good old Autopia yesterday, I noticed that the Tomorrowland station is now a smoking section! As if Tomorrowland wasn't dystopian and depressing enough. I, of course, couldn't resist the opportunity, but, man!
