I'm not really for or against the narration, but I'm a noob so there's that.

I just hope no lap bars are installed. I thoroughly enjoyed stretching out and relaxing...taking a bit of down time on a hot day.

Monorail interiors falling apart
Buzz Lightyear guns broken
PotC effects out of order
Sorry looking Soarin' screen
Nemo is still attached to the Living Seas
The control sticks in Mission: Space are still not giving vibration feedback
Scratch graffiti in most of the queues
30% of Splash Mountain's AA effects not working
The Yeti is still down
Stitch is still there
Things like this exist...

The BAH
etc..

The list goes on. Try to not get bent out of shape about a TTA spiel that doesn't sound like it used to.
Splash AA's are broken again?

On our recent trip I noticed several of them our of order. The geysers, the vultures at the end, The screen that shows the characters running over the hill was torn loose from the bottom causing it to wrinkle, etc...

Really? So sad. They JUST finished what, a 3 month refurb, on that ride? It looked great when I was there in August, with the exception being the gophers were not working in the cave scene. Do they not do nightly pms at all?

They should. A monthly PM would do the job too. Honestly, I think they refurbed items other than AA's and just left it to its own devices. That apathy is what caused rock work to start falling off.

I believe they are still running that ride off compressed air. If so, it requires extremely regular service and checks of the cylinders. It would make more sense to close it down for an extended period and replace everything with servos, but that's a very tall order. If I were them, I'd start just replacing a few units at a time, and over the period of a year or two, they'd have everything swapped out with something more "maintenance friendly"...

But...what do I know about maintaining animetronics (outside of 11 years doing it)...<grin>

As of a few weeks ago, no. There were a few quirks but the ride was completely functional. The only obvious problem were the fountains that jump over the ride path in the laughing place. But those have been MIA for most of the year.

A few weeks ago? They must have just gotten these things fixed. I rode it for the last time on our recent trip on Oct. 19th and the stuff I mentioned was still down.

Thanks for the whippersnapper comment--I'm 48. Unfortunately, my 1st trip to MK was in 2003. Timekeeper was still running that November, but only a handful of us were there. Yeah, I liked it, but I like Monsters Laugh Floor too. That change is defensible, and debatable. The new TTA narration is neither; it's undebatably bad.

I'm glad you agree, and I wish somehow they had been able to keep the Timekeeper AND put in the Laugh Floor where Stitch now is. But that switch would cost millions. Switching back the TTA narration would not. I'll have to look up OTAC and Wagner. Thanks for the uplift on a Saturday morning.

I will admit that the attraction is hit or miss most of the time. The two visits before the one I mentioned, there were definitly problems consistent with yoir experience. Thing is, Disney is being very active now in doing regular maintenance and not letting the attraction rot anymore.

It's a little sad that some people go to enjoy the rides, while others get on board with a notepad to see what's not working :-(

I hope they do some pressure washing along the tracks. It's looking a little grimy!!

Did they ever clean up Progress City by the way?

Hit the Disney Cruise Line and Photo threads if you want pure, unadulterated happiness. Honestly, this and the "General Discussion" threads seem to have the most criticisms, some of it productive and much of it nitpicky. For the most part, I think people enjoy their time at the parks. We all note when things are disappointing, but none of us should let it get in the way of those few days in the year when we leave the work behind and go somewhere great to enjoy ourselves with our families. Yeah, it's all good, and Disney truly is doing its best given the need for consensus, budgets, and technology.

Of course, that still doesn't forgive the rancid putredness that is the current TTA narration.
