Tomorrowland new entrance

That does look nice. I’d be curious to see a wider shot so I can see how the backstage area behind Plaza Inn and the BLAB (then Circle vision?) building look from the Hub

I don't remember much about the space between ATIS and the Plaza Inn other than the bathrooms. I'm certain backstage areas weren't visible though. The area behind Circle Vision was obscured by trees, just as it is today. This isn't the best shot to show what you're looking for, but it'll give you an idea.

Looks good to me!

I just hope that the new concept art of that entrance is very unfinished and that they ll reveal a new one when the TL 4.0 is announced. One that’s closer to the picture you posted and with the Astro Orbitor gone.

So now that we ve seen concept art for the new entrance and they took the time to rebuild these walls I guess we can all put to bed the idea of a complete TL Demo.
Don't forget the stairs they are constructing in front of SM near Star Trader.

I don't think this puts a Demo to bed, but perhaps just pushes it out several more years.

Well the rumor was always that SM was gonna stay. So that wouldn’t put the whole demo rumor in question either way.

Space Mountain was there before the Magic Eye Theater, which is technically what those stairs are attached to. Space Mountain can still exist even if the theater was torn down....the stairs can't. Since those stairs are for the evacuation of the terrace above the theater, I'd say those stairs are more of an indication that the theater (or at least that space) will be there for while to come.

If it is always going to be a flex theater, they need to put in a futuristic sign to advertise each show like they did to the Muppet theater.

While all that may be true, you don’t think they can’t demo around the stairs? I mean just look at Marvel in DCA. They demo’d almost the entire land and kept only what they needed to reuse.

So again I don’t see the stairs, or even the theater they are attached to as any indication that either a complete or partial demo is out the the realm of possible TL futures.

The Ol moving the goal post ay? Nobody said a complete or partial demo was outside the realm of possibilities. Just what we predict will happen based on the facts at hand. A partial demo is all but guaranteed anyway. Unless anyone thinks Launch Bay is long for this world.

I’m not moving the goal posts. Everyone is posting reason why we should put to bed the idea of a complete or partial demo of the land. I’m saying so far all these reasons are no indication of anything. A complete or partial demo of TL is still completely on the table in my mind. A refreshed entrance, a new tin covering on a wall, and some stairs are all cheap and not permanent. So no it’s not moving the goal post.

Sorry maybe' moving the goal posts' was inaccurate. Maybe I don't remember your previous posts but I thought the tone was that you were a little more confident about a possible complete rebuild and not that its just within the realm of possibility. "Realm of possibility" to me implies a slight chance. Which I think most of us can agree on. Like I said I don't think one person here thinks a partial Rebuild is outside the realm of possibility as its all but a guarantee at this point. So in actuality, all you have said is that there is a slight chance that anything can happen. 👍

Anyway if I'm reading the tea leaves, its not looking "good" for a complete demo but of course anything is possible.

I still don’t know why the “tea leaves” you’re reading is giving you an indication of anything. Again none of these “projects” are big budget items, they are cheap. A wall can get recovered, a new entrance can be done again later now that the French fry rocks are down, and stairs can be rebuilt easily. Again none of these projects scream permanency. For all we know these projects were slated to be done years ago and just now got some money thrown at them. We know the French fry rocks we’re rumored to be removed for a couple years now.

So at this point I don’t feel there is any more information on the future of TL than we had a year ago. We still have the same rumor as we did back then.

Put your $ where you’re mouth is. How much you want to bet? $100 Disney gift card? I’ll bet you a $100 Disney gift card that we won’t get a complete TL demo.

To answer your question it’s not about $. None of these TL projects cost anything. It’s about timing, the concept art, rumors, Disney’s recent history and intuition among other things.

Psst put down a time frame and a motivation if you're going to make a bet like that. For all you know, Disneyland could close in 20 years and be demolished and then you'd be out $100.

Haha Well the timeframe would be whenever the next TL is unveiled. I’m not paying if Disneyland closes because of World War 3 or a Zombie apocalypse.

nah, no reason to bet. It’s just cool to debate.

I’ll take your “tea leaves” points one by one.

Timing - means nothing unless you know the exact time frame on when they plan to redo TL. We could still be 5-10 years off which would mean they recoup any money spent on these cheap projects

Concept art - We all know for a fact concept art isn’t binding nor really telling of the entire project. The only concept art we’ve see In relation to TL is the “new entrance”. Which based on what I saw looks nice but also isn’t really very hard to replace. Nor does it tell us the plans for the future of TL. It’s a couple planters with some Futuristic decorative art (similar to what’s in TL Terrace today) within them. Nothing more.

Rumors - It’s the same rumors we’ve been hearing for the last year. If anything the drum beat I keep hearing is for a complete demo except SM. That is the still front runner rumor being heard.

Disney recent history - They’ve only rebuilt one land in recent history, Bugs for Marvel. So that isn’t much history to go on, it’s one project. But it showed they demo’d the entire land except two buildings which they reused. And if you add GE in there they demo’d 14 acres to get that land. Hmm, seems to me that indicates a more willingness to demo the entire land than not.

Intuition - That is the only thing I can’t debate you on. If you have a gut feeling cool, but so do I. My gut feeling is we’ll see an almost entire demo of TL with the exception of SM and maybe Magic Eye.

I know everyone is excited because TL is getting work done which everyone is assuming means some larger thing will happen. But we just don’t have enough information right now to lean in one direction or another regarding the full demo question. All I’m saying is none of these projects puts to rest any demo discussion (full or otherwise).
