Tomorrow Land The Movie?

Is the Tomorrowland movie going to feature a comedy club starting CGI monsters and a dance show starting Trip Trendo and Stitch??? Cause, ya know, nothing says Tomorrowland better than Stitch in an Elvis suit...

Like I said in the other thread, it seems like this story is an original one. And that they are only using the name Tommorowland because the film takes place in the future. I doubt we will see Space Mountain or anything like that. Maybe the TTA in someway shape or form only because its kind of a public transportation means.

I agree. I would bet BIG money that they will put Stitch somewhere in the movie. Kinda like how they put Wall-e in like three Pixar movies before it ever even came out. So, he will most likely be an easter egg type thingy... :(

I don't know that I'd get too excited that a movie will lead to any great makeover of the land.

350 years in the future... so the attractions of tomorrowland will be:
Stitches Great Escape 2355
Stitches Space Slug Spin
Monster's Inc. Stitch Floor
Stitch Mountain
Astro Stitch
Cosmic Stitch
SVC (Stitch's Vacation Club)
Stitchtopia
Stitch's Transit Authority
The "St"Itchy Lot (Cast Member Parking)

Featuring a new evening show spectacular "Stitchasmic!"

They will improve the park. Perhaps that is why they are doing an entire new track for SM now. Gearing up. I wouldn't be surprised if they found away to premiere the movie in Orlando. Perhaps even in Tomorrow land. If that is the case the land will get even more press. They WILL be fixing the place up. We just don't have a very good timeline.

Here are some quick hits on the movie.

From Comingsoon.net

Q: The original "Tomorrowland" was a 1960's vision of the future. What's the angle you're taking?

Jon Lucas: Slightly faster.

Scott Moore: Disney had such success with "Pirates of the Caribbean," they basically want to do "Pirates of the Caribbean" in space. They want it to be big, fun, adventure, comedy. Our vision of the future and whether we're successful or not is actually not retro, but what would be the coolest future?

Lucas: We want to do a movie that's not dystopia. I actually think the arch of human history is bending towards better things generally. Not always, but sort of. Things are better now than they were 2000 years ago. Somehow in the future like 100 years from now, everything has gotten dark and it's this horrible world. Our crazy idea is what if our future is actually good.

Moore: It's based on a Disney [themed land] too.

Lucas: Yeah, so we can't take this really dark.

From Latino Review

"We're not laughing at Tomorrowland or the vision of what people in the 60's thought the future would be. Our goal is to actually a vision of the best future. It's not post apocalyptic or gritty it's like everything you wish you could have."

This kind of indicates I think that this is going to be a fun adventure style film set in the future. Not a gritty, "Aliens" like future. More of a perfect future where The Rock's character is seen as an alien threat. This film could get kind of dark as well, but not on a heavy duty level. Just my take on this.

Wow, this is the dumbest idea for a movie I've seen in a while. Why not just make a futuristic comedy in whatever future they want? Oh, that's right...marketing synergy. Oh, well, who knows, it could end up being the next Pirates of the Caribbean. Or the next The Haunted Mansion or The Country Bears. Gagh.
Something that doesn't give me much hope is the writer's quote which states "I actually think the arch of human history is bending towards better things generally." It is arc, not arch! Hopefully that was the fault of whoever transcribed the interview, as I would hope that a writer would know the bloody difference.

Hmmmm. Dunno how I feel.

I think Tomorrowland is a world within itself, and this only dumbs it down, in concept. However, they could pull it off nicely.

It could be good. But why soes Disney use The Rock all the time? That is the only reason I didn't see Witch Mt.

I'll happily go see a film with Dwayne Johnson ("The Rock") in it. The man seems to be a pretty decent actor. On the other hand, there is another actor soon to be in a Disney holiday film that makes me want to kill myself after about 2 minutes of his overacting. That's one Disney animated film I'll be skipping. Besides, how many more freakin' versions of "A Christmas Carol" do we need? Disney's already got at least two under its belt. Hopefully, Tommorowland will be decent...like the first Pirates.

I don't think PotC movies ruined PotC attraction at all...

and even if the Haunted Mansion wasn't that great of a movie (i still enjoyed it), it certainly didn't have any negative effects on the attraction.

So I don't get where your idea is coming from.

And how do you know this? What's your source?
