Tommorowland Going Away

I heard from a very good source that sometime in 2010 Tommorowland will become "Pixarland". I was told this is a working name in progress, but it will be changed to something along those lines due to the fact that it's too hard and costly to keep updating a land that's about the future since things change so quickly these days as far as technology goes. Over the next 4 years more and more of the land will be replaced by Pixar themed attractions as already has happened in some cases. Expect Stich to be the last attraction replaced with a Pixar theme in 2009. Space mountain will get a massive refurb late 2007 or early 2008 with a Pixar overlay. And the Indy speedway will get a Cars overlay sometime in the next few years. Even COP will get a massive refurb in 2009 with some sort of a Pixar theme added to it. I've said as much as I know, and I'm ready for everyones insults and questions on my statement so have at it.
Well they already have many pixar themed attractions. I just would hate the name pixarland.

One word for this rumor: NO.

This isn't going to happen. The only possible name change that Tomorrowland ever had the possibility of having was to Discoveryland but that was before the failure of Disneyland's Tomorrowland '94. No name change is on the way for Tomorrowland.

two problems. one, along this train of thought, future world at EPCOT should be changed,
2. Tommorrowland was NEVER about the REAL future. it is the future that never was..... It is the representation of the 1950s view of the future
But I had many bad dreams about this Pixar invasion... which I vented several times in several threads... :lookaroun

Don't think this will ever happen but at the moment Pixar things are sneaking up on us in Tomorrowland... Look around you... how many rides in tomorrowland have been "Pixar"ized already...

Oh and by the way, the 'joke' wasn't funny at all.....
No kidding. Why do people insist upon putting bad joke threads in the News forum? It's just annoying. It's not funny. It's not clever and it's not original. Isn't that what "chit chat" is for?

Just curious..What kinds of complaints led to changes? What changes were made?
I think Pongo is refering to Alien Encounters complaints. These were made by your lesser than average intelligence guests who managed to ignoe the warnings in the guide books, the warnings outside the attraction entrance, the warnings in the attraction entrance, the warnings given by greeters and the ExtraTERRORestrial name. Then they complained when little Johnny got scared. The result? SGE.

On a different note, am I the only one unsettled by Corrus not denying the OP?

gulp.

Monsters Inc. Replaces Timekeeper (obviously)
Indy Speedway replaced with CARS overlay
Space Mountain revamped with a soundtrack by the composer of the Incredibles (so there IS a pixar connection)

and then theres the Incredibles attraction which, in some concepts, utlizes the space of the TTA, Skyway, Galaxy Theater, AND COP. To be one gigantic pixar e-ticket.

Pixarland as a name? Not going to happen. Period.
The stuff above is fairly accurate with the following exceptions:
-CARS in the Speedway...been casually talked about...not a serious plan as of now as far as I know.
-The concept I last heard for Incredibles didn't require removal of CoP or TTA.

WOW!! Since I am a Disney conservative I am completely opposed to this alleged change of Tomorrowland. How can they change the entire area? I personally wouldn't think that Walt would like Carousel of Progress being changed to a Pixar theming of some sort.

I agree that Tomorrowland is what the future was to look like with imagination and magic added. I guess no one really saw that Pixar was going to be such a huge part of the future.:lookaroun

Yeah. With the combination of Epcot and TL, the future is certainly looking, well, "animated." Disney World may take on a whole new meaning in the future, huh? :drevil:

New quote for the future,

Have a Pixar Animated Day... :lookaroun
