I dont disbelieve you. But there is a BIG difference to how Walt and Roy attended the parks viewed the parks. They didnt go because there kids wanted it at the time. They went because they loved it and wanted to see it succeed and it was being cared for properly. I dont think Iger loves it much beyond $$$$.

Walt, Roy O., Roy E. and even Michael Eisner genuinely liked visiting the Disney parks and resorts. Iger never had any interest.
I worked at the Disneyland resort for several years and I spoke with dozens of senior cast members who said Eisner would sometimes just come for dinner at the hotel or stop by the parks to say hi to employees whereas Iger and his Disneyland presidents never visited except for very scripted appearances or media events and would hightail it out of there.

Iger needs his rest and recharge. He awakens daily at 430am to get on his Versa climber for a 45 min workout at his home gym with his personal trainer. They are not many 72 year olds in his shape.
Why would a parks customer care?

It's one of their most valuable divisions and if they don't appreciate it how can you expect them to make good decisions about it?

What level of decision making do you think they need to make? They see the numbers coming in and they make investment decisions based on those numbers. Everything else is delegated down. That's really the way it's supposed to be. Let the park team run the parks.
It's funny to think that someone like Eisner going to the parks should be seen as a positive when, at the time, he was labeled as a micromanaging control freak.

Because it shows the value they put in them. It doesn't matter your money level, you do what you enjoy. If his only reason for going to the parks is to get a pr photo, it shows you he doesn't really enjoy or care about the parks. If he's going on random days just to take in a meal or enjoy the atmosphere, it tells you he truly enjoys them.

Like other CEOs they go with an entourage , with bodyguards , an advanced set schedule to meet with mgt and tour the parks. That's wishful thinking they can just pop in for a meal as a CEO.
It's certainly far more pertinent than.... his workout regimen.

Like has been said, Eisner somehow managed. And, even if that is the case, wouldn't he make some plans to go with all that (assuming I'm with you it's all needed) at some point if he truly wanted to visit?

Iger, and for that matter Chapek, clearly don't / didn't care for the parks just based on most of the decisions that have been approved over the last decade.
Like I love to say, it's about IP integration with people like Iger. Advertising. Just make it fun or shiny enough for us walking wallets.

Not if those things make money. The days of Walt or even Eisner where the CEO actually cares about the parks or cares about anything other than stock price is long gone.
