Jackson had been rushed to UCLA Medical Center this afternoon after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest. LA Times says he was not breathing when he was taken to the hospital.

Jackson was well-known to Disney fans not only for his legendary pop icon status, but also for his role in "Captain EO," an attraction which enjoyed runs at four Disney theme parks.

FOX news is also reporting that he did indeed die.

Edit..apparently not...I was told the wrong info. I have fox news on right now and they are not reporting death yet.

We'll probably find out in the next hour or so if he really has died or not. If he has, may he rest in peace. If he has not, than I hope he gets well soon.

Indeed. TMZ has been slightly ahead of the curve so far on the story, but they certainly are not infallible.
To clarify... as of 5:57pm Eastern, major news networks are saying he was hospitalized due to cardiac arrest... only TMZ and BNO (Breaking News Online) are reporting his death. Checking with local stations there to see what they're saying.

I believe this is the third thread on this subject.

No official word on his passing, just that he is hospitalized. I'll rely on the news sites and not the gossip sites.

No matter what his current situation may be and no matter how questionable his personal life may have been he is/was one of the most, if not the most, musically talented people ever. He has had an impact on pop culture and music that few can compare to.

Best thoughts for the family and most importantly his children.

I hope it has been greatly exaggerated ... but I'm fearing the worst here.

Very talented guy that's been tormented since childhood. I really hope he is still with us.

LA Times are reporting he is alive but comatose. TMZ, X17Online, and OK! Magazine are sticking with their stories.

Ironically, MSNBC just showed video of an old performance where he was dancing on a replica of the Statue of Liberty's torch. Strangely reminiscent of the finale of American Adventure.

It's worth pointing out that no matter what the case is, all reports are being based upon eyewitness and "source" accounts, as HIPAA regulations prevent any direct release of information on hospital patients.
